    I'm already seeing posts on other forums such as:

    "The Pope is a NAZI!!!"

    and

    "The Nazis wanted to protect BMW factories!"

    Therefore, the Catholics are now lead by a Nazi, and we should boycott BMWs!!

    Just vistited DU. Almost laughed out loud when a poster complained of the hard-core theocrats gaining power in the Vatican.

    Calling him a Nazi yadda yadda yadda I'm not a Catholic anymore wah wah wah.

    The Hitler Youth thing....The guy was TWELVE YEARS OLD and Hitler Youth membership was COMPULSORY in Nazi Germany, meaning you were either in the HJ or a Concentration Camp.

    Yeah, who would have thunk that a guy that lives in religion would become the Pope.

    They selected who they selected. Yes participation in the Jugmodel was manditory so you cannot hold that against him. Not my first choice for a new Pope, actually he was pretty close to the bottom, but it wasn't my choice to make.
