Taking American's jobs?

Part of the article goes through how the business owner spent $32,000 to fly in enough Mexican workers to complete the jobs he had. Which had to be approved by immigration yes? Or the federal government in any case. Which they did approve.

Odd that isn't it Trump supporters.

What if he had offered the $32,000 as increased wages for the workers he hired?

There weren't any to take the jobs. That is the point. Where's the bus with the out of work West Virginia coal miners? Give them the jobs. Nobody took the jobs. This is also the case with most of the agriculture jobs that require hard work like picking lettuce or other such work. Americans refuse to do it.
Because it’s beginner/starter jobs for younger generations, snowflakes don’t work labor they’re too busy playing politically correct

The business should determine what it pays and what it cannot pay, Not the federal government
And they can decide to either pay enough to draw LEGAL labor or to go out of business.

Going after illegal black market labor is not an option and if they do decide to go that route their business should be confiscated under RICO laws and the owners have jail time.

Show us how much he offered in compensation.

I was looking for work for two years and applied for EVERYTHING I could do and all I got was a three month job washing dishes before they let me go.

Employers should train the employment pool to fit their needs. Like they do in third world countries.
And like they used to do here prior to Bush kicking the H1-B visa limit from around 3,500 to 65,000 in 1988.

My first job as a software engineer was in an OJT situation as I finished my degree.

That grows the consumer market and the economy if companies are not hiring Pablo and Venka who will send every dime they can spare back home.

An American businessman decided to 'hire American' and couldn't find enough workers, so he flew in a crew of Mexican workers to get it done. So if Mexicans are taking all these American jobs, why can't American businesses find enough American workers to fill positions? Where are all the out of work 'middle class workers that voted for Trump'.

A landscaper’s ‘hire American’ plan ended with bringing in Mexican workers to finish the job
Fact: there are American's out here who would have taken those jobs, the problem is this, business owners do not want to pay decent wages, that is fact. Latino's however will take what is offered. We have in this country,. the highest stock yields of all time, everyone invested in the market, ie corporations, small business owners, etc...all are making huge profits off the market...and that's a good thing....if you have stocks...which most people in this country DO NOT.....So here's the question....with all this profit floating around, how many jobs has it created? Why are wages still at an all time low? Has anyone benefited from the wealth, the market has given, besides people lucky enough to have worked for companies that offered pensions and 401K's? That trickle down shit should be fully engaged by now with the few months of Trump and yet, nothing? So don't buy into this hire America shit, these owners want max. profits and the american worker is just a side note and that is fact!!

Well the problem with trickle-down is a whole other discussion.

The idea of decent wages is pertinent but if Americans are out of work why would they not take any job. Conservatives daily whine about the minimum wage and how it should not be raised but you make the point, Americans don't want to take those jobs. So who then? This is the difference between theory and reality. 'America first' sounds nice and all toasty warm but in practicality it doesn't pan out. Americans WILL NOT take just any job they can find. Especially since the unemployment rate dropped to 5% before Obama left office. Picking produce is one of them. And the building trades are in dire need of skilled workers. Drumpf is a simple minded person with black and white non solutions to everything. He just says what people like to hear. The reality of the situation is entirely different than what it is painted as. Thus the moniker of snake oil salesman.

Try it.

Even for businesses that want to hire Americans first they can't fill the positions. Which drives a stake into the heart of the narrative that 'these people need to be deported because they are taking jobs from Americans'.
Bullshit.

All these so-called jobs Americans wont do have mostly Americans doing them NOW.

If these stingy bastards wont offer a decent wage then they should go out of business.
you created the welfare state and are now wondering why those people don't want to work?

You don't even realize your hand in this, do you.

And you failed to notice that the jobs being offered ran from April to October. If you're looking for full-time work, this is not the job for you. What are you supposed to do the other 6 months of the year?

Go south they hire landscaping jobs year round

It costs a lot of money to pick up and move with no guarantee of a job when you get there. If you have children there's also schooling to consider. If you are relying on family for child care or other assistance it may be impossible. A $14 per hour job is not going to give you a lot of savings to make that move.

A lot of you right wingers have quick pat answers that aren't really practical.

Construction workers do it all the time, follow the money , feast or famine .

Construction workers make a lot more than $14 an hour.

That would depend in what state you're located.

Why wasn't he willing to spend that 32k on pay for native workers? Americans will do the work for a fair wage. You can't reach living wage by hiring illegals to do the jobs Americans wont do for peanuts. To reach a living wage, step 1 is to remove the illegals who suppress wages. Only then will wages rise.

Likewise, you cannot eliminate poverty while taking in impoverished people. It is 1 step forward for every 2 steps back.

Oh, I get the need for importing workers to do jobs that americans won't do, I get that fully. But we're not just talking agricultural jobs here, the service industries, the bulk of our economy is manned mostly by latino and african workers, our construction, latino workers, why? Because they will take on these jobs and not demand high wages.

Yes and No....keep in mind we're talking corporate greed here....the days of minimal profits of millions are a thing of the past.
