I just finishing reading Sybil Exposed: The Extraordinary Story behind the Famous Multiple Personality Case by Debbie Nathan
It reads like a novel and is very well researched.
Troubled impressionable girl from a small town Seventh Day Adventist family, a brilliant, bullying female neuropsychiatrist in 1050's Manhattan, and a glamorous, frustraed feminist magazine writer come together to form a fictional diagnosis of a disorder that ends up in the DSM.
Multiple Personality Disorder is a fad diagnosis. Read how "Sybil" was created.
