Authorities from the predominantly Muslim Republic of Chechnya, an autonomous province in Russia, have threatened parents of gay children, warning them, “Either you kill them, or we we will,” reports France24, citing testimony from one of the victims of alleged concentration camps for homosexuals operated by the local government.

It not really religion that the problem in Russia. Russia government is really conservative on social issues but really liberal on economic issues.

It funny because communism being very left wing was very conservative more so than the US doing the USSR on social issues.

And to this day Russia not that much different than the way it was before.

They look at being very liberal on social issue as being part of US capitalism.

Russia would go with more state run stuff and free social programs in heart beat over liberal on social issue that the US had for some time under the republican party.
