But are they worth protecting? :dunno:

We should just call them. I'm sure Verizon works there.

As they likely are reproductively isolated from the rest of the humans, how do we know that they are not a different species with whom we are unable to reproduce?

They, and the Kogi of Colombia, will still be here when we aren't.I imagine the few Mayans that are left might do OK too.
This time they'll be the ones told by Gawd "Go and replenish the earth" (Do it AGAIN)

From being shot or attacked, of course. From actually being exposed to the rest of the world, no. They deserve the same protections that all people deserve - life and freedom. They deserve the right to make choices but not to be isolated to the point they are not even really contacted.

Send in the conquistadors, they'll know what to do.

What natural resource do we need to screw them out of?

If they have one?

Their society is doomed.

Why wouldn't they be?

You say that casually, like history is an easy source of proof of humanities willingness to forgo resource development in order to protect the ways of life of the more primitive peoples who are in the way.

Hence the question - what's it worth to us as a society to protect wild spaces from resource development?

Valid question. 'Are they REALLY human?'

It is SO much easier to sell the slaughter required to develop the resources when the creatures under the gun are 'heathens'.

The video was clear - loggers.

Yeah guilty.

I didn't watch the video.

Well, if history is our guide, then if there's money to be made destroying an aboriginal culture, that culture is doomed.

Agreed?

Hell!~ For that matter, if there's money to be made destroying a 1st world culture, that culture is doomed, so let's not kid ourselves, shall we?

That is exactly what's happening to our Western Civililized culture, right now!
