Personally? I believe he has lost the Independents temporarily. He lost them when he decided Washngton Style politics was a good idea to get Healthcare legislation passed. THIS Independent voted for him because he promised to clean up Washington style politics.

Unfortunately President Obama failed to mention that his idea of cleaning up Washington style politics was to replace them with Chicago style politics, don't sweat it, we all get fooled some of the time ... just try and make sure ......
