Summer Of 2012: Will Up To 50% Of Americans Choose Between Air-Conditioning And Food?

Obama is already back around 40% approval thanks to his gas prices, wont go much further north until it goes back to 2.99.

Now Wonderdumb, do you have to lie about everything?

Oh yes, and yet Obama will keep taking his million dollar vacations while over half of us are still suffering financially,,yet Obama speaks for the poor and middle class? Will O'Bozo be off to Marthas Vinyard again for 20 or so days when America will be in some crisis once again come August?

If you worked 24/7 and had the type of job the president has, you'd be trying to get away as much as possible also.

Obama works? When? He's been on a perpetual state of vacation since 1/20/2009.

How odd that you go on about that when he still hasn't vacationed nearly as much as Bush or Reagan did.

But then again, you complained about THEM being in a perpertual state of vacation too, didn't you?

Poor babys, just hoping for some sort of disaster to lay at our President's door. Given the present candidates that you are fielding, that is what it will take. Or maybe three disasters.

your president IS the disaster. hate to break that to ya!

There is something I am honestly puzzled about. I am wondering exactly what it is one has to do to one's brain so that one can criticize Obama's vacation time with no sense of hypocrisy on one's part. Considering Obama's time spent on vacation is literally one third the amount of time Bush spent on vacation in the same length of time in office, I feel like I am listening to retards when I hear these things.

Is there a specific spot on your head you have to hit yourself to induce this selective amnesia? How many foot-pounds of force does it require?

Honestly, I really do not get it. There HAS to be some very weird pathology behind this phenomenon. And it merits scientific study.
Of course there's a difference between going to the ranch at Crawford, where you have an office set up etc, and jetting around to Martha's Vineyard to rub elbows with the beautiful people.

Now the Republican candidates will be bashing the bajesus out of Obama for not doing anything to lower gas prices and he will not be able to fire back. and Obama was elected to "Save Us" from a bad economy and high energy costs?

Republican policies will make sure we have neither. They will chase away the immigrants who pick the crops and refuse to upgrade that old electrical grid because they don't want to "waste" money on infrastructure when they can make tax cuts for billionaires.

I lived in South Floridastan for 25 years. The only time I ran the AC was A)during hurricanes and B) when some Canuk friends or yankees showed up.A/C is a luxury NOT a necessity.Anyone over 50 remembers that. I actually hate it.

Down thisaway you can hardly find an a/c other than in re$$$orts catering to murkins and Canuks.
Fuel is over $5 here. The locals often take the bus and only use their vehicles to travel or shopping-church-partying-fishing on the weekends.I even ride the bus once in a while just to bullshit with the local farmers.
Made lots of buddies and learned a lot about organic gardening in the tropics and eaten some good food when invited over for lunch.Good fun. Think America ( with the A---pre JFK murder style murka)

I can handle a few months of 85-90 degree weather,a lot of Floridians are used to it,,,its the hot weather in the big cities that most residents can't tolerate being there is no ocean breeze to cool them off,,,and you also have the foundations/roads absorbing the heat. Maybe thats why many flee to Florida in the summer,,,To Cool Off !!!

ive been here since 1990, this is the first winter where we have never had one of those week long cold waves. I think the longest cold wave we have had so far lasted 3 days, maybe with an overnight low of around 50?

The way things are going I'm waiting to witness A days and B days again as well.

Michelle Obama thinks they should take the A/C. She thinks the American people are overweight, so eating less food will help. Also, with the A/C cranked up, these fatso's can move around and exercise more. It's a win/win in Obamaland!

They have been saying for years that gas will hit 5 bucks a gallon, the closest it ever came to thet was during Bush. What did he do? Nothing. There is really nothing much the president can do. But your type seems to think that the president has enough power to force prices down, well they really don't. it is controlled by the people on Wall Street and the gas producers. The only way a president could change that is by nationalisation of the industry, which we will never see in the USA.

And in 1999 when oil was $10 a barrel, and gasoline was 60 cents/gallon ( that's minus the 40 cents government take), what did Clinton do?

Nothing.

Result- rig counts plummeted, drilling all but ceased, thousands of independent oil companies went down the drain, hundreds of thousands lost their jobs in that sector, foreign countries dumped crude on our market at below production cost (against the law).

There was something that President could do, but he didn't. Fuck Clinton, fuck Democrats. Fuck your Socialistic policies.

If the predictions are on track and we go into the summer of 2012 with an average gas price of $4.50 (ish) a gallon, then what happens to our electricity bills? If the average household pays about $100.00 a month now, what will it be when it's 85 to 100 degrees out?
This issue hasn't been brought up yet on the news, but let's all just wait and see what Obama and the White House has to say and tell the nation come June/July when the average American is already suffering as it is with gas&food prices.
Will The Left Keep Blaming Bush ?
:disbelief::eusa_silenced::fu:

A) gas prices do not effect electric rates, so that's not relevant
B) food and gas prices would drop if the Ethanol mandate was eliminated. because the price of gas would drop by 6 cents a gallon and it would become more efficient, and the price of corn and meat would drop because corn wouldn't be used to make ethanol but would be used to feed people and livestock.

$100 a month?

Shooooot... we here in snowAmerica should be so lucky as to only have to worry about a measily $100 a month energy bills.

I expect the last thirty days I went through over 100 gallons of # 2 fuel keeping my house heated up to 62 degrees, folks.

Do the math and understand that I buy that much fuel every month for about six months a year.

And my house is well insulated and fairly small, too.

And this was not a particularly cold winter, either.

I can use twice that amount if its an especially cold winter.

the main problem is the scorn with which these people view others. the word empathy doesn't exist for them.
