What is sad is watching liberals, from the conspiracy forums to global warming, absolutely bastardize science in attempt to prove their point.

No real scientist is going to claim that some 200 years worth of data relative to earth history is evidence of much of anything in terms of proving man made global warming.

Well, some do just that - but they are sucking from the big tit of government cash while doing so. So much of the "science" on this issue has been corrupted by self-interest, self-promotion, and plain good old fashioned greed.

First, to address the issue of the "only 200 years" arguement. Paleoclimatology is a branch of science that grown with astounding speed in the last decade. Here is a NOAA site;

These sites not only address what they believe that they have discovered about the climate in prior periods, but the methodology that led to the conclusions.

Now to address the second statement. That of scientists being unduly influenced by the government. If the only scientists that were stating that anthropogenic warming is a reality were ours, or only those in the industrial nation, you might have a point. However, even the Saudi scientists are stateing that the primary driver of the present warming is the burning of fossil fuels. Also, one might note that the last administration was not at all fond of those that stated the facts of anthropogenic warming. By what you have stated, we should have seen a bunch of scientists that agreed with the prior administration, and that suddenly changed sides with the incoming administration. We saw nothing of the sort.

As far as the greed factor goes, you can make a lot more money from Exxon for publishing skeptical critiques of AGW than you can doing actual research on the subject.
