Subject: Our Presidential Candidates

Very Interesting. What are we gonna do?

The only thing we can do is educate people and vote.

In Just One Year
This email comes in three parts: (The first is very important)

Part 1
In just one year. Remember the election in 2006? Thought you might like to read the following:
A little over one year ago:
1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
3) The unemployment rate was 4.5%.

Since voting in a Democratic Congress in 2006 we have seen:
1) Consumer confidence plummet;
2) The cost of regular gasoline soar to over $3.50 a gallon;
3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase);
4) American households have seen $2.3 trillion in equity value evaporate
(stock and mutual fund losses);
5) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $1.2 trillion dollars;
6) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.

America voted for change in 2006 , and we got it!

Remember it's Congress that makes law not the President. He has to work with what's handed to him.

Part 2:
Taxes...Whether Democrat or a Republican you will find these statistics enlightening and amazing.
The Tax Foundation - U.S. Federal Individual Income Tax Rates History, 1913-2008
Taxes under Clinton 1999
Single making 30K - tax $8,400
Single making 50K - tax $14,000
Single making 75K - tax $23,250
Married making 60K - tax $16,800
Married making 75K - tax $21,000
Married making 125K - tax $38,750

Taxes under Bush 2008
Single making 30 K - tax $4,500
Single making 50K - tax $12,500
Single making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 60K- tax $9,000
Married making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 125K - tax $31,250

Our Democratic candidate will return to the higher tax rates It is amazing how many people that fall into the categories above think Bush is screwing them and Bill Clinton was the greatest President ever. If Obama is elected, he says he will repeal the Bush tax cuts and a good portion of the people that fall into the categories above can't wait for it to happen. This is like the movie The Sting with Paul Newman; you scam somebody out of some money and they don't even know what happened.

PART 3:
You think the war in Iraq is costing us too much? Read this:

Boy, am I confused. I have been hammered with the propaganda that it is the Iraq war and the war on terror that is bankrupting us. I now find that to be RIDICULOUS.

I hope the following 14 reasons are forwarded over and over again until they are read so many times that the reader gets sick of reading them. I have included the URL's for verification of all the following facts.

You don't think hussein and the rest of the liberals can't ruin America? Think again.

Pretty telling when there's not one single response to such a fact filled post as this. It shows the level of antipathy we have in this country today.

But that's pertaining to the conservatives. I fully understand why the hussein kool aide drinkers didn't respond.

The republicans have been in control for over 30 years now, this argument is about as dumb as one can get. Reagan's deficit spending killed Bush Sr, and Bush Jr's absurd deficit spending, along with an added dose of pure incompetence is killing us all now.

In the following article, this author points out the mistakes President Bush made.:
Did Bush Makes Mistakes? | Hypocrisy

Why doesn't anyone ever remember the good he has done? Everyone can point the finger, and play the blame game, but do we live with him and see day to day what being the President of the United States entails? Were we there on 9/11 when he had to make vital decisions that impacted our world?
Any of you who reply and make fun of me, or try to show your superiority over me, only show true ignorance. Instead of pointing the finger, don't you think it's time to remember that soon he will no longer be our President, because we have to vote for a new leader?

Please tell us the good things he has done? - If nothing happened that does not count as a good thing by the way.

Sanctuary State of Mind (Rudy Loves Illegal Immigration)

and

I used to live in Dunc Hunter's district, and got the total we love and need the illegals lecture their office used to put out. Ole Dunc had businesses where he hired illegasls.....

Oh, and that anchor baby thing......

As for the tax thing, I am for a flat tax, 10% everyone pays, no exceptions, and a consumption tax (national sales tax) on non-essentials, 15% (clothing costing more than 100$, food, toilet paper, laundry soap are essentials - you get the drift)

Taxes are a necessity, time to get over the whine. This country is enough of a pigsty without dispensing with taxes.

[FONT=Trebuchet MS,Bookman Old Style,Arial] Whoever produced this chart simply applied tax tables from 1999 and 2008 to various income amounts, apparently without understanding the difference between marginal tax rates and average tax rates and without allowing for even the standard deduction. As The Tax Foundation noted, when those factors are correctly applied, the chart should look like this:

Taxes under CLINTON 1999 Taxes under BUSH 2008 Single making 30K - tax $3,157.50 Single making 30K - tax $2,756.25 Single making 50K - tax $7,262.50 Single making 50K - tax $6,606.25 Single making 75K - tax $14,262.50 Single making 75K - tax $12,856.25 Married making 60K - tax $6,585.00 Married making 60K - tax $5,512.50 Married making 75K - tax $9,426.50 Married making 75K - tax $7,762.50 Married making 125K - tax $23,426.50 Married making 125K - tax $19,462.50
Note that the largest difference between 1999 and 2008 taxes in this revised table is only $3,964.00 (for married couples making at least $125,000), while the original table (incorrectly) posits comparable or larger differences in five out of the six sample brackets.

Errors aside, the limited amount of simplified information offered here (which assumes all taxpayers have no children and take the standard deduction, doesn't account for inflation or the Alternative Minimum Tax, etc.) provides only a small glimpse of a much larger and complex whole.

All of the sources for the purported "study" comprise links to conservative organizations or immigration critics. For example, the figure supposedly showing that "$11 Billion to $22 billion is spent on welfare to illegal aliens each year" comes from FAIR, which has faced bipartisan accusations of airing "racially inflammatory" anti-immigration ads with another group, the Coalition for the Future of the American Worker. The 2004 CIS study on the public cost of illegal immigration yielded two of the figures.
Many of the figures -- including the claim that "30 percent of all Federal Prison inmates are illegal aliens" -- came from transcripts of CNN's Lou Dobbs Tonight, hosted by immigration critic Lou Dobbs. Colorado Media Matters has noted Dobbs' refusal to correct the debunked claim that the United States had experienced "7,000 cases of leprosy" in three years recently due to illegal immigration.
Colorado Media Matters - Boyles touted as "study" an email collection of anti-immigration activist falsehoods and unsubstantiated assertions

It has enough facts, it's just so huge and cumbersome who the heck wants to spend 3 hours reading it and following all the links?

Not me, that's for sure. It's worth glancing over now and then to get it piecemeal.
