I went short on some puts on an issue because the premium was so high that it would cost me less than buying the underlying directly, if exercised, and the issue is moving up. What is going on here?

Shorting is a dangerous game. Shorting on margins even more dangerous.

Isn't that the case with almost every put out there with any premium?
