Stop the Repub plan to send Medicare

See this is the problem you are so stupid that you think accepting the fact that government is more efficient in health care means I think govt is more efficient in everything

so then why be so afraid to tell us why libturd bureaucrats are more efficient at health care but not in all other industries?? What does your fear tell you??

Notice how you can't even talk about the subject on hand. Why is it that you repsone to the fact that govt health care is better is a total red herring? Could you perhaps not be such a blatant dumbass?

What??????bad English; makes no sense. See why we say liberal are slow?

yes in effect the same because both mismanaged by liberal government monopoly when we know competition works best. Ask your Mom to explain competition to you

No dumbass Medicare is a government run health insurance program.

it is so then does the insurance company pay the bills or does the government? Do the patients pay premiums that cover costs or are they paid for by other taxpayers??? is it just a liberal monopoly??

See why we say a liberal will be slow?

Obamacare makes it so insurance companies in the single market compete for customers. Ironically you are so ignorant that you say we should do the things Obamacare does and then int he same sentence bash Obamacare

dear, we don't need Obamacare to make companies compete in the computer or clothing business so we obvoiusly don't need it in healthcare either if competition is the goal!! Slow??

Yes and Obamacare sets up this voucher system for those in the single market.

Obama had 2 communist parent and so wants single payer, not a capitalist system in which people are spending their own money. A child would know that. If Obama wanted that Obamacare would not be necessary.
Slow??

Furthermore currently Medicare is 50% more efficient then a voucher system.

1) there is no significant voucher system. Oh well!! Slow??
2) if single payer medicare was efficient Red China would not have switched to capitalism to make everyone rich! They would have stuck with single payer communism in all industries.

So basically you hate Obamacare, but want to turn Medicare into Obamacare despite Medicare being vastly superior as it is.

libertarians hate Obamacare because they are capitalists. They know that:

1) customers shopping with their own money shop carefully. Imagine buying food or cars with government or insurance money??

2) forcing providers to compete make them better and cheaper.Imagine someone who jogs for fun and someone who races in life and death competition? Who would be a faster runner? Now you understand competion and how it makes us better. Not so hard was it?

Now you know how capitalism reversed all of human history in 200 years. Ask Mom to explain competition if you still don't get it

Privatizing Medicare will cause it to be more expensive. When you run out of your vouchers, you're shit out of luck.

That is garbage and you know it.

But, just in case you had not heard about it....the future was presented in late 2009 when the Mayo in West Phoenix quit taking medicare payments......

Read up on it.....

Mayo facility in W. Valley to stop taking Medicare payments

Low reimbursements have led one West Valley medical facility to stop taking certain Medicare patients, a pilot program that an Arizona health-care expert says may become a long-term trend in the industry.

For now, most Valley hospitals are still taking Medicare reimbursements.

The Mayo Clinic announced in October that its Arrowhead Family Medicine practice will stop taking Medicare payments for primary-care services. The policy goes into effect Jan. 1, affecting about 3,000 seniors. Five doctors have practices at the clinic.
"We tend to see more Medicare patients in that area," said Lyn Closway, Mayo spokeswoman. "This is a (two-year) pilot, and we will re-evaluate or reassess this after an appropriate period of time."

For Mayo Clinic, the cost of providing services to Medicare patients exceeded the total amount paid on behalf of Medicare patients by $840 million in 2008, according to the hospital.

"Government payers, without question, are the worst payers in health care," said John Rivers, president of the Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association. "Medicare shortfalls in hospital payments represent nearly $1 billion in Arizona alone. And those costs ultimately get shifted onto the backs of privately insured individuals in the form of a hidden health-care tax."

Rivers said Medicare payments can't be kept below cost forever without extensively damaging hospitals' ability to serve their communities. Opting out of Medicare may be the only choice for many to balance their books.

"Mayo Clinic was the first health-care system to go in this direction, and I don't think they will be the last," Rivers said. "Everyone else is facing the same pressures as Mayo Clinic, and I won't be surprised to see more of this in the future."
Have you seen what hospitals charge patients these days, so I guess the government hasn't been keeping pace with the crooks, who charge $100 dollars in example of for the equivilent of a bayer aspirin for goodness sakes. The government has been bilked out of millions by these crooks over the years, so I guess one could say that the programs might be going broke or rather that the government is tired of getting bilked for millions taken out of the taxpayers troffs for these crooks, to then live large on as a result of such over charging & fraud, and if you don't think I know what I am talking about, I can give an example by naming a hospital that is in a lawsuit with the feds right now over this kind of stuff, where as the sting also caught a good many doctors to be involved also.

Yep that has been proven by the privatized portion of medicare Part C medicare Advantage costing 14% more than traditional medicare.
And Medicare Advantage providers are threatening to cut off medicare to many people if they do not get an 8 billion or so "bonus"....

Only idjits would think the the voucher system will work.

I'll explain where as it is usually that a person no longer has control over what he or she pays a doctor or hospital once on medicare, and this is because once they are on medicare, it is because they are either to old or to poor to afford anything much at all in life at that point, much less a one hundred dollar aspirin to be charged to them if didnot have any type of care program at all, so the government gets that charge, and it pays for that aspirin regardless of what the patient worry's about, wonders about or thinks about in it all, and this is what the hospitals and doctors have enjoyed for quite sometime now. It is all a war between the government and the care givers, and the people are just being thrown into the middle of it as a distraction, just like it is done with them in everything else when the gig is finally up in so many situations.

You know, people are getting tired of all the infighting between the crooks and the ones being crooked for whom are at the top, so when is it all going to get straightened back out somehow for the true middle working class in this nation I wonder ?

Obamacare and Medicare were designed to control people. Obamacare will die a quiet death this summer and Medicare in 2016.

In other words, young people who would prefer an option to social security can't have one because the government knows better.

only an idiot would think people spending their own money would be more costly than spending other peoples' money.

See why we are positive a liberal will be slow?? What other explanation is possible??

Medicare is going broke. Obamacare will kill it not republicans.

ObamaCare extends Medicare solvency by like 5 years. Also republicans have all voted twice now to completely eliminate Medicare

Horse shit

Obamacare and Medicare were designed to control people.

In 2011, 62% of adults in Medicare rated their insurance plan a 9 or 10 on a 0-10 scale (via the CAHPS survey).

That same year, 39% of adults in commercial insurance rated their insurance plan a 9 or 10 on a 0-10 scale.

Medicare was designed to insure the elderly and they like it very much.

Medicare was designed to insure the elderly and they like it very much.

as if its news that people like free stuff. Stand on a street corner and hand out $8000 per person and see if they like it!

See why we are positive a liberal will be slow? What other conclusion is possible??

why would people like it so much if they don't feel its free??

They rate their own plan (Medicare) better on performance than do enrollees in commercial plans. In the 2011 CAHPS data, 65% of Medicare enrollees say they always get needed care, but only 54% of people with commercial insurance say that. 67% of Medicare enrollees said it was always easy to get needed care, tests, or treatment through their health plan, vs. 59% of the commercially insured.

Scores on customer service (i.e. a composite customer service score based on responses to questions about customer service giving necessary information or help and customer service staff being courteous and respectful) also diverged: 67% of Medicare gave the highest rating vs 57% of commercially insured folks.

Personal spending isn't the issue in these questions.
