Pardon me for noticing but Why do Democrats insist on being the victims?

The latest, Obama wins the Nobel Peace Prize: Democrats get their butts in a twist over what the Republicans are saying, whining and trying to score political points by playing the victims.

The ongoing, Obamacare: Democrats play every card in their victims deck to convince the American people that their plan is best and those mean Republicans wont work with them.

The obvious, Bush did it: Democrats blame Bush and Republicans (Ultimate Victim Card) for all the problems they've made worse since acquiring majority status.

Ah Democrats, you asked for it, you got it, now do it, without the the wimpy victim dance...

:eusa_boohoo:

Who's a victim?

republicans have been relegated to a minor party, Democrats are in the process of spurring the greatest economic recovery since the 1940s.

The Once Grand Old Party is now the party of No. They will not win a major election for the next 12 years.

Good time to be a Democrat

Because they live in fuckin' lala land and don't have reality on their side, so it's easy to hide behind a victim, even if said victim doesn't exist.

This echoes perfectly the mantras of 1976 and 1992.

You fail to learn the lessons of history therefore are doomed to repeat them.

But the question is, why do you want a one-party dictatorship?

In what, your three or so years of adult life?

You truly want no opposition, no checks and balances? You want absolute power corrupting absolutely?

At this point, yes I do

I have seen how our congress works together. There is no way to accomplish anything but deadlock in our existing political climate.

Given that America gave the republicans complete power to accomplish what they have been proposing for a generation and I saw what they did to this country.

The Once Grand Old Party has alot of fences to mend before they are allowed back

That, MM, is what Bush et al tried to do to the American people, and the American people threw the jerks out of office. The GOP is not getting back in office until it gets rid of the jerks.

Baloney. The GOP lost the tiny majority it had because they didn't do the job they were elected to do.

Just like Dems lost their majorities in the 70s and the 90s.

The cycle will continue. It's happening again today because both parties OVER REACH when they get power.

Bullshit. The GOP has NEVER had the type of majority power you see the Dems with now. In fact, the most recent incarnation of "GOP Control" could have done nothing at all without large amounts of Dem votes and support.

Today's Congress, can do anything it wants without ANY GOP votes or support.

Have a Orpple.

Look..
We gave them a shot to accomplish what they had been proposing
Cut taxes, deregulation, strong arm foreign policy

What we got was the worst recession in 70 years, a crashed Stock Market, raging unemployment, two wars and a demolished US reputation around the world.

Now we should allow the republicans back so we can get "checks and balances"??

That is representative of how "We the People" voted. "We the People" were outraged at the performance of the GOP. The GOP payed the price politically.

The GOP's "majority" was in name only, they couldn't have done anything at all without a large amount of DEM votes and support.

It's just a fact. You've been conditioned and programmed to assign blame to just one party when it's the combined efforts of BOTH which got us here.

You're narrow-minded.

As it was in the 70s and the 90s for the Dems, and is happening again today?

Yes.

But anyone who thinks the GOP had any real control is just ignorant and stupid. Particularly if they are trying to compare that with what the Dems have right now.

And still, nothing's being done.

January 3, 1995: Republicans gained control of both houses for the first time since the 1950s. (That's 40 straight years of Dem rule broken. If they're so great, why were there ANY problems?)

The last time the GOP had any significant control or power in Congress, the US balanced the budget, reformed welfare, passed line-item veto, Gramm-Rudman, taxpayer bill of rights, and dozens of other good pieces of legislation. The economy boomed, and yet STILL, their majority began to erode in subsequent elections.

This historically happens in a cycle. The party in power takes it on the chin in mid-term, always. Always has and hopefully always will because we NEED to keep an adversarial relationship between the houses of Congress and between Congress and the President.

It's not supposed to be a co-dependency relationship, Like Bush had with Congress, and it's damn sure not supposed to be a marriage, like we have now.

If you WANT one-party rule, a dictatorship, you are really really stupid.

You put up a healthy fight but wisdom falls on deaf ears it seems.

I just stick to the facts and try to awaken these partisan idiots out of their stupor, perchance to see if they have ANY brain cells working yet, or if their brain is atrophied totally from long disuse.
