I have watched numerous clips and a few whole episodes of The Daily Show.
The guy is hands down funny...but the depth of his "reporting" is razor thin.
He is an entertainer, and a pretty good one. Beyond that - not much there.

I agree. The fact that Jon Stewart is not expected to be or respected as a 'true' journalist in many ways makes him a very reliable journalist. Meaning he mostly speaks for himself rather than corporate interests.

I remember the day he was on one of the news shows and all the reporters were giving him a hard time about understanding an issue, He had to interrupt them to remid them he is not a real reporter.

If you want integrity you could try Major Garret. Define importance and I can probaly name a reporter that is as important.

Basically content producers are demanding that the US government move copyright infringment cases from the CIVIL side of the law to the CRIMINAL side.

Why?

Because going after copyright pirates is expensive, that's why.

What they want is the ability to shut down the sites without a TRIAL.

And their lapdogs in Congress are more than ready to comply.

Stewart just makes the reporting on this state of affairs, rather amusing.
