CASSVILLE, Missouri (AP) -- Two men were charged Saturday with murder and rape in the death of a 9-year-old girl whose body was found the day before in a hillside cave in southwest Missouri.

Barry County prosecutors charged the girl's 25-year-old stepfather, David Spears, and his friend, Chris Collings, 32, with one count each of first-degree murder, forcible rape and statutory rape in the death of Rowan Ford.

Rowan's body was found Friday in a cave in a remote part of McDonald County, about 10 miles south of the village of Stella, where she lived with her mother and David Spears. Her disappearance last weekend led to an intensive search by dozens of officers from three counties and 50 FBI agents and specialists.

I am so sick and tired of this. When are they gonna have a federal law making this a capitol offense. I believe that the punishment should be two-fold first castrate them with a heated sword. Then let them live with it for a while. Then execute them in Old Sparky. I do not believe in "cruel and unusual punishment" As these ACLU clowns call it. Have we thought of the pain of the victims?? Screw these animals they deserve to die in as much pain as possible. And we should only give them one appeal. If there is substantial evidence that it was done by this pperson such as DNA and or video tape. Just give them one appeal and execute them within a week. Unless someone does to these people what they did to Dahmer. That would be pretty fitting for these pricks too.

I'm a moderate on these issues. I think that if there's enough evidence, there should be a bullet through the brain and dump him in a dirt hole. No appeals to the Supreme Court over the issue of whether there was a Fourth Amendment violation in the search of his house or whether his defense attorney should have called three witnesses instead of two.

I second the bullet solution. Make 'em dig their own graves first and stand them in them, that way cleanup is minimal.

I've got to say, when I first read this about this on Friday, my gut said the stepfather would be in jail by Monday.

As for the bullet, I'll volunteer to pull the trigger and I'll pay for the round.

It's on me. I have a half-used box of Winchester ammo in my gun bag.

i'm glad we are a nation of laws instead of vigilantes.
