nancy's gonna pay fpr backing murtha for majority leader.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The House majority leader reluctantly agreed Tuesday that congressional hearings should investigate Speaker Nancy Pelosi's assertion that she wasn't informed, more than six years ago, that harsh interrogation methods were used on an al-Qaida leader.

The Associated Press: House No. 2: Explore Pelosi interrogation briefing

reluctantly

Steny, I've always regarded as one of the adults in the House. He hangs on in any argument but you can tell when he is being made uncomfortable with taking a purely political stand; he's a lot like Congressman Dingell of Michigan. Both of these guys try to do the best for their party (and then their country), but they aren't ideologues.

She will be doing all she can to squash this potential investigation - and might very well succeed, as the White House too will not wish to see this be made into a national spotlight issue focused primarily on Pelosi, and then by default, the Democrats as a whole.

Good, let's get it all out in the open.

Yes! The GOP are very smart to involve Pelosi and not only involve her, but change the topic so now this fucking story is about her.

Bush tortured. The Bush team knew they were breaking the laws. The GOP were defending Bush and torture. Now they want to say Pelosi is guilty? Of what? Why aren't they defending Pelosi for doing the right thing, in their eyes.

Weren't these briefs top secret?

Wasn't bush back then crying about whistleblowers and how they make us less safe?

And then it ended up being Scooter/Cheney who were leaking and putting CIA agents at risk?

That was rich.

Murtha Rival Says Congressman's Top Aide Threatened to Have Him Court-Martialed
Bill Russell, an Iraq war veteran who served with the Army, says Rep. John Murtha's chief of staff threatened to have him court-martialed when he ran against the Democratic congressman in 2008.

Rep. John Murtha's opponent in the 2008 election claims the Pennsylvania congressman's chief of staff has threatened to have him recalled to active duty and court-martialed for campaigning while in the military, which is in violation of military code.

Bill Russell, an Iraq war veteran who served with the Army, told FOXNews.com that Murtha's chief of staff, John Hugya, made the threat on two occasions -- first to his former commanding officer and then to his face in March.

"It's a terrible, terrible threat to make," said Russell, a Republican who lost to the Democratic powerhouse in November but plans to challenge him again in 2010. Asked if Murtha is trying to bully him out of a rematch, Russell said: "It was a direct intent to intimidate."

Russell was on active duty for a three-month period -- from April to July -- of his campaign for Congress last year. But he said he did not campaign during that period, as Hugya was suggesting, and so did not violate military code that prohibits doing so.

"I'm very comfortable with the fact that I didn't do anything wrong and there's nothing to court martial me for if they try to do it," he said. But he said Murtha's reputation as a powerbroker on Capitol Hill puts him on edge....

Of course what people knew and when they knew it need to be figured out.

Everything and everyone involved in this torture issue needs to be exposed to the sun, folks.

Pelosi seems to be a republican gift, that keeps on giving. Why doesn't she jst shut her pie hole?

She doesn't think she has to be accountable-this like most back stabbing cuts both ways. Dem's should not of opened Pandora's box they just don't know when enough is enough. They are in power so govern but no they have to cause unnecessary shit like a revenge. These types of scandals will haunt this congress till real change happens.

It certainly puts the spot light on the democrats right now, needless to say not in the positive light. I'm sure Obama will want this resolved sooner than later, because of the distraction it's causing. I think she maybe seeing the sunset as speaker of the House.

It's OK with me, I'm tired of seeing her in Harry Dresden's avatar.

Libby did not leak anyone's name DUMB ASS. He was accused of lying about what he said and when he said it. Armatige leaked the name, the prosecutor KNEW that in the first couple months of his investigation on the matter and ILLEGALLY began building a case of perjury against anyone he could catch. READ the law , it is ILLEGAL to conduct an investigation for the sole purpose of PERJURY.

For ONCE get your story right DIP SHIT.
