[Next, they'll be licensing the prostitutes for the purpose of installing those ubiquitious ticket number machines you find at the supermarket deli, only before you get your ticket to be served, you'll have to slide a little in Governor Quinn's direction. A Constitutional crisis will be provoked when an Illinois State trooper randomly and accidentally stops Sandra Fluke for speeding and demands she apply for her special occupational license before proceeding any further into the state.
Illinois, if you're unaware, is the state that went to Wall Street for the purpose of selling revenue bonds to cover its State Employees Retirement and Health Care Costs and was so destitute than when the Wall Street bankers asked what revenue stream the state intended to use to pay back the bonds, the State's reps had to tell them "Psst! Come close so nobody else can hear!! Da Federal Governments gonna pay back dem dere bonds!"
Democrats. Ever true to Charley Rangel's (D-NY) words 'We have to tax more, so we can spend more!"]

"SPRINGFIELD, Ill., March 9 (LID) – Illinois lawmakers are considering a bill that would levy a special tax against strip-club goers to help the cash-strapped state bankroll sexual violence prevention programs.

The proposal seeks to impose a statewide, $5 per-person admission tax at “live adult entertainment facilities” that either serve alcohol or allow patrons to bring their own.

More than 100 Illinois establishments, including striptease clubs, would be affected by the law.

Senate Bill 3348 is awaiting action by the full Senate, after Tuesday clearing the chamber’s Public Health Committee on an 8-0 vote.

Despite the unanimous vote, some committee members expressed concerns about the proposal, suggesting amendments may be in the works."

The solution for strip club owners is obvious.

Turn the stripping business into a religion.

    There's a religion I could join..

Seriously, though, this is a political winner. It's like attacking smokers. Conservatives think they are fighting sin and Liberals think they are fighting misogyny...

And they'll all meet up a strip club afterwards for a lap dance.

They did that in California. More to the point, they tried to turn prostitution into a religion. It didn't work.

Even California was not stupid enough to allow alcohol on the premises of strip clubs.
