starving in Texas

The way you on the right are reacting to Americans ( many children) starving shows how indiverent you are to them

They aren't starving. Get that through your thick skull, and quit lying.

Doesn't it make you a little sick to your stomach to use children in this way?

TM does not think for herself. She is incapable. All she can do is regurgitate Left wing Lies, and Talking points.

I must be one of the starving, I routinely miss at least one meal a day. Count me too?

Starving is the wrong damn word. The 18 percent is a bald faced lie. No wonder TM is spreading it.

Mods can we please have a name change for truthmatters to the more appropriate truthdoesntmatter?

They are the numbers.

You just dont care aboout your fellow Americans

And your proof is what?

The fact they claim your starving if you do not get all 3 meals a day? Lots of people would meet that criteria.

Based on the misinformation in your link, you braindead dolt.

1 in 6 claim they have "difficulty" feeding their family (that's universal in most working class families; work is "difficult" and it is "difficult" to make ends meet. It isn't the definition of starvation, however)...but less than 1/2 of THOSE meet the 185 percent federal poverty level standard....

that's from your own link. That's not starvation.

Mortality

According to Jean Ziegler(the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food for 2000 to March 2008), mortality due to malnutrition accounted for 58% of the total mortality in 2006: "In the world, approximately 62 million people, all causes of death combined, die each year. One in twelve people worldwide is malnourished.[12] In 2006, more than 36 million died of hunger or diseases due to deficiencies in micronutrients".[13]

According to the World Health Organization, malnutrition is by far the biggest contributor to child mortality, present in half of all cases.[3] Six million children die of hunger every year.[14] Underweight births and inter-uterine growth restrictions cause 2.2 million child deaths a year. Poor or non-existent breastfeeding causes another 1.4 million. Other deficiencies, such as lack of vitamin A or zinc, for example, account for 1 million. Malnutrition in the first two years is irreversible. Malnourished children grow up with worse health and lower educational achievements. Their own children also tend to be smaller. Malnutrition was previously seen as something that exacerbates the problems of diseases as measles, pneumonia and diarrhea. But malnutrition actually causes diseases as well, and can be fatal in its own right.[3]

You said starvation, but whatever.

so where in your link does it say the children are starving, per your claim and your thread title?

We're looking for the actual word "starving" or "unable to sustain life".

Not "gosh it's hard to work and support a family".

Struggling to pay the bills is not the same as starving. In case you don't know.

Starvation
Definition
Starvation is the result of a severe or total lack of nutrients needed for the maintenance of life.
Description
Adequate nutrition has two components, necessary nutrients and energy in the form of calories. It is possible to ingest enough energy without a well-balanced selection of individual nutrients and produce diseases that are noticeably different from those resulting from an overall insufficiency of nutrients and energy. Although all foods are a source of energy for the human body, it is possible to consume a seemingly adequate amount of food without getting the required minimum of energy (calories). For example, marasmus is the result of a diet that is deficient mainly in energy. Children who get enough calories, but not enough protein have kwashiorkor. This is typical in cultures with a limited variety of foods that eat mostly a single staple carbohydrate like maize or rice. These conditions overlap and are associated with multiple vitamin and mineral deficits, most of which have specific names and set of problems associated with them.
Marasmus produces a very skinny child with stunted growth.

See how much you hate them?

You hate them so much you deny they exsist

Uh..thank you for parroting me (what is with you guys doing that?) but what you are supposed to be doing is showing how your stupid article reflects that children are starving.

Because that is the claim you made. I see nothing in that article that shows that anybody is starving. I posted the definition so you would know what to look for.

Carry on. I'm sure you can find a quote that supports your absurd claim.

Not.
