Washington is buzzing over Obama's "joke" or admission of failure when he said (with a smile) "our shovel ready jobs weren't as shovel ready as we expected". If he intended it as a joke it is profoundly insulting and if he admitted that his stimulous didn't work the credibility of his administration has collapsed.

It demonstrates the complete contempt and lack of empathy Obama has for America and Americans. This has been a continuing theme in his presidency.

He is quite the little jokester isn't he? One of my favorites was when he was making fun of republicans and talking about the border and wanting moats for protection.Yeh it's real funny when Americans are getting killed in the middle of the night in their sleep.

So, Americans were NOT getting killed in their sleep when the Republicans controlled Congress and the White House?

It's a set up, In a week or so he will announce that the Shovel Ready jobs, are ready now, and we must pass another massive stimulus package or face wasting a great opportunity and slipping further into Economic ruin. Economic Ruin that is of course completely and totally the fault of Bush, Republicans, and rich white people.

Whatever happens, we need to keep him talking - off prompter. He does wonders for the Republicans every time he spouts off without his script. I guarantee we'll see that little gem in the campaign ads.....

The question is whether the president really intended the stimulous package to stimulate the economy or it was a way for a crazy former community activist to trade really really big (taxpayer) money for votes instead of giving away $20 bills on the street corner.

It's a funny thing when the largest portion of the stimulus was tax breaks, which is what most of you say we need to get the economy rolling again, and then you complain about it. Maybe it's because the bulk of those tax breaks didn't go to the super wealthy that you didn't like them?
