well da kidlet just called..he is guiding today.....he was walking down the trail to the chimney when he ran up on a black bear....a huge male bear according to son....he screamed...and the bear took off thru the woods....son said both he and the bear were kinda shocked by the encounter.....he said the bear took down small trees crashing thru the woods....

son is now on top of the rock to set up ropes....he can see the bear watching him from below...(blueberries are out) i ask him if he thought the bear could climb.....he was not amused and said...the bear seems to know the trail up here.....

he has his cell phone of course and should be fine.....

Indeed Cell phones can be very effective against black bears. Just crank up some Justin Timberberg and that bear won't stop running until the Ohio border.

no but he is wearing this weird thai pants that he got off spider this weekend....and he is having company...she is 6' 5"....he has never been with a girl as tall or taller than him.....lol

he survived the bear encounter

he has a friend who survived a grizzly attack...did everything the bear experts said to do.....the bear still chased him down.....he played dead for hours as the bear sit by him and would paw him on occasion....
he still looks like hell

black bears rarely attack unless you get near a sow and her cubs
