Progressives believe the only problem is that they have not soaked enough out of the rich. If they could just soak all the wealth out of those "rich bastards" there would be no problem.

SS and medicare spending is not general fund spending since much of what is spent on those 2 programs is directly paid in by recipients present and future.
Id is decietful to include that spending in with general fund spending.

Why is it deceitful to add it all up together as total spending? Why shouldn't taxpayers know how much the deficits are for SS and Medicare and Medicaid and Defense and the other stuff? Seems to me it's more deceitful for the dems to claim the SSA is not adding to the debt/deficits when the General Fund has to borrow money to make up the shortfall between what people pay in and what beneficiaries take out.
 
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that you can't spend more money than what you have coming in before you get into deep troubles... Why is this so hard for Washington to understand and accept?
