    One of my most fondest wishes is that governments would get out of the business of providing roads and highways alltogether (actually, I'd like to get them out of all "municipal services"--water, sewers, mail delivery, trash pickup, etc). Let the free market provide them. You wouldn't have shit like this to raise revenue, because they would simply charge whatever the market price for the road is. Roads would be in better shape, traffic jams would disapear almost overnight, and private mass transit would actually be viable. Plus, roads are a huge portion of the pork that gets doled out in congress and state capitols every year.

    very true. Which is why it would never happen. Too much money to be stolen there.
