USS Abraham Lincoln
Directed by David Mamet and starring Val Kilmer, this movie ends up being one of his better roles over a checkered career. He plays an intense Special Operations Marine who along with Derek Luke (the promising young actor from Antwone Fisher) and Tia Texada (of TV's Third Watch) must solve the mystery behind the apparent kidnapping of the President's daughter.

From the very beginning, Mamet draws you in with a script that has taut, believeable dialogue and character interaction that keeps you interested for most of the film. Despite the deep, engrossing storyline which revolves around deception and the oft overlooked human trafficking problem, the film lets you down at the end with a forced resolution. Up until the last 5 minutes though, this is a fantastic thriller with great performances all around. Highly recomended.

Its now out on DVD for rental or purchase.
