Spain back in recession

Newsflash: Franco has been dead for the better part of 40 years.

The currently ruling party of Spain is Patrido Popular (PP), which was founded by Manuel Fraga, who was one of Franco's ministers (he croaked recently, much to the joy of anti-Francoists). At its inception PP was largely stuffed with Francoists and the like.

That is true, yet it were those same PP-politicians who established democracy in Spain and associating the current PP with Franco is pretty ridiculous.

True and, while I'm sure that PP has some dinosaurs from the Franco era like Fraga, the party is largely like the Tories are in the UK- softball conservatives in other words. An actual authentic rightwing party in Spain (or Catalonia more properly) would be Plataforma per Catalyuna of Josep Anglada and his followers.

I'm sure that many people in Spain are wishing for the days of Franco right about now.

Bye Bye, Spain. Don't let the door hit your asses on the way out, spics
