Depsite the fact that their states have given massive free money gifts to the foreign auto companies to build in their state, these same little self centered union hating bastards worked to kill the auto loan.

The average UAW wages are in between the wages of some of the plants in the south, even though Selby stated otherwise.

Mitch McConnel, the little fat pasty faced weenie, wouldn't accept a cut in the UAW wages over two years. It had to be now.

They are out to bust the unions pure and simple.

More of the trickle down theory. And I doubt if anyone on these threads is one of the tricklers as opposed to the trickled.

How a middle class person can vote for the current republicat party is beyond delusional.

In all yer wailing, gut wrenching knashing of teeth and vitriol, you have yet to explain how the unions are going to compete with the foreign carmakers! You can't force us to buy your shitty cars! We don't want to be continually giving you handouts,,

As a person who has seen the inside of the UAW since 1978, frankly they need their ass shook up. They are as much to blame as anyone else for the big 3 troubles and those who wish to ignore that fact are and will stay, part of the problem.

We have owned a lot of motors and wheels over the years and 90% of them have been American, but, we have always done that because of loyalty and because so many close to us were in the UAW.

The big three need reform top to bottom, side to side. From the top seat in the front office to the person who cleans the toilets. The problems are encompassing and everyone shares the blame.

They will be bailed out in some fashion.

My wife and I own a Ford, a Dodge and a Toyota. But we've decided we won't buy a car from any manufacturer that takes bailout money.

I would like to see more Americans do the same.

Yeah that's right make more Japanaese or Germans wealthy.

That'll show us, eh?

wow...that's a great idea.

I'm always astounded that the very party that loves to call people's patriotism into question are the first to say "I'm not buying American"

Are you also going to stop banking with banks who took bailout money?

the double standard being shown is disgusting. When wallstreet needed help they said it was a national emergency..without a bailout we'd crumble..they bellied up and handed over 700 billion dollars and now suddenly it's completely unacceptable to come up with 15 billion? GMAFB already.

It's just more shitting on the average american worker. what really shocks me is that I didn't realize that we had so many millionaires on this board. I mean how else do you explain this attitude that the middle class don't matter?

They may "need their ass shook up", but these skanks aren't worried about that. a) each of them has foreign carmakers in their districts who are NON-UNION and they want to help them at the expense of our own carmakers... how "patriotic" of them. b) These folk have hated unions since forever and a day... too bad, so sad, life is filled with pain. I still see a utility to unions... though I have no issues to that utility being balanced by pragmatism and a good work ethic; c) They aren't talking about a major reason we have trouble competing with foreign goods --- it's because THEY get government health coverage and the employers don't have to factor in the cost; and d) They had no problem with writing a check to rich bankers... this is about the cost of two months in Iraq which their little neo-con butts had no problems paying for either.

And they SHOULD get their loan... with major strings, of course.

Just my .02

What a catsassresponse. You will give our tax dollars to foreign compaines making cars here but not to American companies.

You are truly a republican. When foreign car makers are financed by their governements and their pay is significantly lower than ours, you can't compete on an even basis without some form of goverment intevention.

This is more of the rich trying to rule by destroying one of the few voices the middle and working class have: the union. They aren't perfect in any way, but they are better that being dominated by the fucking rich cats.

I like most american cars. We suck at small cars, and we're behind the curve on hybrids. But america makes great pickups, minivans, sedans, SUVs, and sportscars.

BTW: regarding your complaint on unions? Japan, German, and Sweden all have auto unions, and their unions in general are more powerful than american ones. Ever drive a BMW? Great car, 100% union made in Germany.

I think what you're really saying, is that you want auto making to be outsourced to low wage, de-unionized places like Mexico, Honduras, China, and Alabama.

let me tell ya something budrow... the poorest,, and I mean the poorest I've ever been was when my hubby was in a union.. we never worked,, cause somebody or the other was always on strike,,, we had to honor strikes doncha know?? the union bosses still collected their pay,, we paid our dues they built big fancy dancy houses and we lived in rented trailers,, smartest damn thing we ever did was kick unions to the curb... and until American can build a better car than Toyota,, hell yeah I'm gonna buy Toyota and hell yeah I'm a Republican...

Send an email to the White House here.

I got this email back from the White House and thought it would be an appropriate reply to every one of your posts:

On behalf of President Bush, thank you for your correspondence.

We appreciate hearing your views and welcome your suggestions.

Due to the large volume of e-mail received, the White House cannot respond to every message.

Thank you again for taking the time to write.

Wake up Willow. Can't you comprehend what Ray & I are telling you? Or are you married to a CEO and you feel like you will benefit from socking it to the workers of America.

Bye Bye middle class.

What I hear is you and rayboy constantly bashing the very people whom you want to win over to your side,, you call us names when we disagree, ie anti americans,, you never pause, take a breath, or consider why we might view things differently.. I'm awake,, are you?? what makes you think I want to sock it to anybody?

Republicans deserve a heap of blame for giving us the appalling Bush, and following that up with McCain.

But I'll give them credit for this one, someone needed to stand up for taxpayers who don't want to hand money out to behind-the-times Socialists.
