Just for a moment remember this then ponder my questions.

Ok.

For the last week democrats, including most on this board have been running with the rumor that Harry Reid started about Romney with no regard to the fact that it's just a rumor. And you all say it's upon Romney to prove Harry wrong.

I'm not a democrat... However for me it isn't about disproving that what others say is wrong... It's about proving himself right. I've said it before to people on on the boards... I don't really care what you say about yourself, it's your actions that will define how I see you.

Now, let's think back to when Obama started the rumor that he wasn't even born here. And the rumor he applied to college as a foreigner. So why isn't it upon Obama to prove otherwise?

You are correct that it's more or less the same thing in that context. However I take no stake in the factuality of what you are saying, only that hey... Obviously Obama can win it without doing so. It's been proven.

Then you had Cain who had all kinds of rumors and again everyone demanded he disprove them.

*shrugs* Demand all he wants it's not like Mitt has to. However, if what Mitt says is true, wouldn't it be in his best interests to prove it?

Time and again speculation and rumors hold more power than truth.

Well... If that's the case then it's REALLY in Mitt's best interests to prove it wrong by releasing wouldn't it?

So why doesn't Obama have to disprove the theories about him? And why are many democrats on this board so damn hypocritical?

Because... He can win without doing so? It's already been proven. Just went through that.

Convenient, isn't it that the Dems said that Romney should release ten years of tax returns, and then Reid says "the word is out that Romney hasn't payed taxes for ten years?" That means if he only releases 5, they'll say it was the ten years prior.

Romney knows that if he releases his tax returns they'l pour through them and make an issue out of every complicated and ambiguous aspect of it. People don't understand their own tax returns, and they can't be expected to understand his.

He can't release those tax returns, and he'S too darned modest to make much of it in his favor, like his large contributions to charity; which they'd challenge because to a large extent it goes to the Morman church.

Seems to me that Obama proved he was born here, so I guess now it's Mitts turn to show his tax returns. Here is the funny thing; if he does not, the first question he is asked in the first debate will be "why have you not disclosed your tax returns for the last ten years?"
