Something important that we are losing....

Your party won the election, indeed....but the question is, did America win?
I have my doubts.

Well, isn't that what we are here for?

To have semi-intelligent discussions regarding our policies?

AS for you your jab, I will channel "The Dude": "Yeah, well.. Like that's just your, uh, opinion, man."

Until I see sincere "budget cuts" coming from this administration....I sure like my opinion a hell of a lot more than your "we won", bs.
Just look at Egypt...a few months ago they were cheering that they had won....now they have their regrets.
I do believe that the democrat party has gone hard left, and now thinks that we don't need no stinkin' budget, or any spending cuts...just need to tax the rich.....that's the answer, just tax the rich. Taxing the rich still leaves a trillion dollar deficit next year. Hmmmmm.

So dude, yeah, like that's my opinion. :D

Meister, let's cut a deal with the Dems. If it only helps the middle class and nothing else is done, OK.

We can then batter the Dems over the head for the next 20 months leading up to the 2014 elections, take back the Senate, increase the House GOP, and impeach the president.

We won't convict him, but we will so damage the Dems we will clean up in 2016.

BS? I could see if I was trying to use it as a wedge in an argument.. But, I am not.. The only time I really engaged in that was shortly after the election, and it was only in celebration, NOT, in reply to a debate.

Your opinion is made through your view of the world, that doesn't make it right..

Just look at Egypt...a few months ago they were cheering that they had won....now they have their regrets.

I never approved of dealing with Egypt, I am not a "lock-step" Obama supporter, I have my problems with him.

The money we spend in the Middle East is better off at home, going into our schools and infrastructure.

As a true liberal, I'll tell you right now, the Dems have not gone far enough left.

The budgets would have NEVER been passed by the house, so what's the point? Obama submitted a 2013 budget, the house Republicans took it the floor for a vote.. It was voted down. So, LOL, you think they don't submit budgets.. :doubt:

Taxing the rich is part of the equation, trying to downplay it just proves some people are unwilling to put their chips on the table. DOUBLE DOWN!

So dude, yeah, like that's my opinion. :D

Yes, it is.. And very "original" I might add.

you won you won you won you won you won you beat the felon you beat the murderer you beat the evil rich white vulture you won you won you won you won :d

If your implying that I am somehow using the election win as a wedge against your arguments or stance.. Well, you are just plain wrong.

Or were you just being a troll? I have never engaged in anything remotely close what your above quoted post has in it.

Isn't this thread about exactly that? And how immature it is?

Willow

If you are going to neg me over my post at least have the balls to show me were I am lying.

Don't just neg me with the comment: "you need to get a little honesty in your life."

If you can't even provide proof I am lying.

Impeach the president....really?
Who did you vote for in this last election, Jake?
I say lets "compromise" with taxing and spending...not one now, and later maybe the other one. We all know how that will work out...we saw it in 1986 with the amnesty bill, huh? You act like the GOP has momentum in the next election, Jake.
We have a problem that needs to be fixed now....both sides of the equation, not just one side.

Just to be honest here, how many democrats voted for Obama's budget....show some integrity. Obama's budget wasn't meant to be passed.....that's why he submitted it.

How? I am willing to listen, Meister.

The bill to extend those cuts will happen, either as part of a deal during lame duck, or the Dems will introduce in the new term and make all of us GOP look real bad.

Who did you vote for, Meister? Show me yours, I will show you mine. Show faith here.

When it comes to politics I have no faith, and you're being silly acting like a conservative Jake, it didn't work a year ago and it's not working now. You don't know how to think like a conservative, so don't try.
My asking about how you voted was a rhetorical question, Jake....we all know who you voted for.
The GOP is asking for a serious talk about spending cuts and Obama wants to kick it down the road, why? He's not serious about it....just like the dems weren't serious about controlling the border back in '86.
The media will play it as GOP obstruction when they are trying to compromise, but, Obama doesn't want to compromise, he doesn't have to when he can dupe the public.

Has anyone else grown tired of the escalation in name-calling and vitriol replacing civility, mature discussion, disagreements or disputes? All sides have guilty parties – it’s not just one or the other.

It would make this board much more enjoyable if we could retire the exhausted labels of idiot, moron, stupid, retard, ____tard, etc. For those who must resort to childish insults regarding mental capacity, you may want to use a spelling and grammar check first because most of those judgmental responses are fraught with errors, making them hilariously ironic.

Here are some prime examples of one person’s disregard for meaningful comments[, basic English and proper writing. Please note, these statements have not been altered and are oh-so-funny . Enjoy.

If you dimwits think you are so smart, why do you guys always sound so stupid and do stupid things?

This just in. Everyone but you know you are a big lefty commie retard. Shut Up fool.

No. Someone smarter then you libtards.

Yet you guys put in office their puppet. Idiots.

Libtards hate it when the truth comes out, they do not know how to deal with it.

An idiot stating what other idiots think.

Because smart people know the truth. Idiots follow the idiot in chief.

They are too stupid to realize how they have been played.

T he first useful idiot shows up. Hey there puke.

The idiot has spoken.

You are an idiot of the first degree.

The three stooges: obamaturd, clinton, and rice should not have lied for two weeks if they did not want to be held accountable. The three stooges need to pay the price.

We all know the alphabets mainstream media are obamaturd butt kissers. Story there.

And obamaturds cushy arse.

You are the fuckwit, fuckwit. Obamaturd is a pos and you idiots kiss his arse.

I told you, google it. I did. You do some work and see for yourself instead of hiding behind obamaturds big ears.

Obamaturd is a disgrace, and you, idiot.

Obamacare is a perfect example. If you are too stupid to see that, you have NO credibility. Google socialism, obamacare fits the definition to a tee. Your response is typical of a libtard..

JIt is their fault, any intelligent person knows it. Obviously the idiot left doesn't because they are retarded.[ust like obamaturd to appoint a coward of a traitor.

It would be pretty easy to improve the level of debate around here, ban the small but prolific group that has an average >30 words per post but an average 50 or more posts per day.

The participation level of this forum is such that a percentage of belligerent adolescent nonsense and sheer adult stupidity in the collective commentary is predictable, but it is very easy to eliminate and to vastly improve one's experience here. All it takes is to consign the name of an offensive participant to your Ignore list and thereby remove that individual from your consciousness forever. Gone!

I presently have between forty and fifty names on my Ignore list and the effect is analogous to stepping over dogshit on a sidewalk without breaking stride. Plus it saves a lot of time and space. Once I know I can expect nothing but empty stupidity and/or offensive nonsense from an individual I rid myself of him or her. And because of the volume of participation in this forum there always is plenty of intelligent, civil commentary to contemplate and respond to -- even with fifty names on your Ignore list.

For the benefit of those who don't know how to use the Ignore feature: Go to USER CP, scroll down the column on the left to EDIT IGNORE LIST, click on it and follow the prompts. It's very simple and takes less than a minute. And it makes this excellent forum even better.

I generally ignore posts like that. It takes two to tango you know.

Your example of name calling posts are right-calling-left-names. That is unbalanced, the left reciprocates all the time. Cue the music.

Nice try.

MY QUOTE: All sides have guilty parties – it’s not just one or the other.

I don't like it from anyone, ESPECIALLY those I generally agree with. The quotes posted were from only 1 person and were the proverbial straw for me. This person fired back from every counterpoint with name-calling and it was not only redundant, but juvenile and lazy, in my opinion. It was boring to read and I learned more about that person than I wanted to know.

We will never have a one-sided conversation here (hopefully), but it would be nice to be able to have discussions instead of playground insults. That was my point.

The very nature of the topics are going to bring emotions and frustrations to our posts - that is a given. I don't want to inhibit anyone's freedom to express themselves, or I would not have been unable to create this thread.

I truly appreciate this board for the forums for the opportunity to connect everyone and allow me a place to try to learn and understand the differing viewpoints, that's all.

Hey new poster,
are you on the down low or the disabled list?

How about I'm on my spouse, whose initials are DL?

Have you checked out the no-flame zone? I just don't enjoy scrolling through page after page of no actual comments on the topic and have to read lame name-calling.
