Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., a member of the Democratic Senate leadership, got on a conference call with reporters Tuesday morning without realizing the reporters were already listening in. Schumer thought he was on a private line with four Democratic senators who were to talk with reporters about the current budget stalemate.

Schumer instructed the group, made up of Sens. Barbara Boxer of California, Tom Carper of Delaware, Ben Cardin of Maryland and Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut, to tell reporters that the GOP is refusing to negotiate.

He told the group to make sure they label the GOP spending cuts as "extreme."

Fucking asshole Schumer.

where did he say there shouldn't be cuts? i think his point was that the rightwingnuts won't negotiate what those cuts are and how much.

maybe the tea children should learn to play nice with others instead of thinking they can dictate to everyone else.

or they can do what they've threatened to.. take their ball and go home crying.

Fucking asshole Schumer.
If "extreme" amounts to 3¢-4¢ on $1,000, I don't even want want to hear these socialist windbags howl when some real cuts are in the offing.

Did you just say "rightwingnuts"????
Wow, the Jillian of old is back! Can 'fruitloops' be far behind?

But, as far as "won't negotiate" here is opinion from one of those "rightwingnuts" who won't negotiate...I think his name is Barak:

"White House just three days after the inauguration, when the new president gathered congressional leaders of both parties to discuss his proposed economic stimulus.

House Republican Whip Eric Cantor gave President Obama a list of modest proposals for the bill. Obama said he would consider the GOP ideas, but told the assembled Republicans that "elections have consequences" and "I won." Backed by the largest congressional majorities in decades, the president was not terribly interested in giving ground to his vanquished adversaries."

that's all nice, PC, but if that were the case, then we wouldn't have had a continuation of bush's tax cuts, would we.

so i think it's an irrelevancy now. plus, it's not the president they have to negotiate with.. it's the senate dems.

you know... so they can get a budget together and all that other fun stuff.

Damn! You could not possibly be more right, Oddball.

If what those goon liberal Democratics are calling "extreme" don't amount to a vial of piss, then those fuckwads clearly don't give a crap at all about the debt or the catastrophic problems we are creating because of the debt.

The Republicans have been paying pure lip service to the problem (other than the loyal Tea Party politicians), much to their shame.

But the liberal Democrats (with hardly an exception to be found) haven't even been THAT assertive about dealing with this problem.

I don't give a flying fuck that he is crafting a message behind the scenes.

I care that the "message" is dangerously and unforgivably irresponsible and fucking stupid.

He's a Democrat of course. These repubs have very limited reasoning skills.

What about this makes Schumer an asshole?

The fact (and it is a fact) that there is nothing even remotely "extreme" about the tepid cuts being suggested by the Republicans.

The problem with their proposals is that they don't even BEGIN to get at the dangerous problem. They aren't "extreme" in the slightest. They are practically speaking, ineffectual and irresponsibly shallow talking points in the guise of public policy.

Since that moron Schumer is attempting to label that froth as constituting "extreme" when it clearly is not, it is clear beyond any further need of actual elaboration that he and those for whom he speaks simply have no intention of addressing the actual enormous problem.

That makes him a fucking massive asshole.

No more an asshole than Boehner calling everything in sight "job-killing".

But your blinders are on, so you don't ever see that.
