Point is adoption is the placement of children into the permanent care of so called responsible adults so yes they need to be screened carefully. It has nothing to with prejudice. If potential parents have problems with illegal activities then no they don't get to adopt a child.

Any male whose pants expose their butt crack, and any woman who doesn't

I suppose that would be up to each individual state to decide. If the parents are running a porn business out of thier home then yes that could potentially destructive to the children. Point is biological parents can have their own children taken away from them if they are found to be unfit or doing something illegal so you can imagine that last thing the state wants is to place helpless children that have already had enough problems in life with irresponsible parents, especially when there are tons of very qualified married couples who can't have children of their own that are desperate to adopt children.
on a side note:
If I go into a home of someone on probation and see they have pronographic material depending on the circumstances I am obligated by the state to report that, as they may be seen in violation of their terms of probation and could go right back to prison. Personally I don't give a fig if they are looking at adult porn, but if they fall under the realm of megans law I have to by law report it becasue if they happen to rape another child, and I didn't do my job I have to live with that.

Yes it is and should be, but I'm not aware of homosexuality being illegal.

For the record, being a fat kid won't harm you as much as thinking it's perfectly normal for your dad to have sex with other men. Homosexuality is about people who define themselves thru their sexual habits. Being 'fat' is about people eating too damn much.

Personally Im against it for moral reasons because I don't believe as it hasn't yet been proven to me scientifically that homosexuality is genetic. I believe it is a choice people make, therefore they could easily influence adopted children to become so just like any other behavior.. children emulate what they see at home for good and for bad. If science tells us with certainty that it is genetic and homosexual couples are proven to be good responsible parents then I would have no problem with it as long as it is deemed legal by the state.

There are all kinds of fucked up people in the world. Why is it that gays are foremost among those we should discriminate against?

Personally it bothers me more when illiterates have kids than if gays adopt kids. But nobody's turning illiterate reproduction into a social, political or moral issue on the scale that they do with gay marriage and gay adoption.

If you have disciplined your child from the beginning the right way, all you need is "that" look and a stern voice saying their name.

For the record, do you have sex in front of your children?
I doubt gay couples do either. Have you come across any studies that validate
your position? Not that I have for mine. What I do have is real life situations. Based on those, I'd much rather see children adopted by gays than jump from foster home to foster home all their young life...that IS damaging.

My son's elbows used to dis-locate. It'd just take even a TINY tug and his elbow would 'pop out'. The first time he cried for several hours. Kept pointing to his hand/wrist. We tried icing it...nothing worked. Eventually, when the crying didn't stop, the ER doc said it's 'nursemaid's elbow'. Since, there've been a couple times when I've had to fix him. I'd grab his elbow, fold his wrist and sort flex his arm.

"POP!" I'd feel, as the elbow went back in place. Poor boy would cry and cry...once the 'click' back into place, all would be well.
