Those things (sadly) happen in ALL professions. Teaching is the only profession that has had war declared on it though.

This happens more than we think I am afraid.
A male teacher who had an earned reputation as a flirter with female students ended up marrying a student less than a month after she graduated. This of course created quite a stir. He was let go.
He is now a principal in another district.
A high school wrestling coach 30 miles north of where I am was fired after a complaint from a student of him making an obvious sexual pass at him. The moron made that pass in a note!
He is a teacher in a small school about 30 miles south of here.
