Some examples of job and innovation killing regulations

My personal favorite is the "If you like your health care plan you can keep it" rule on the second page.

When Congress returns from recess next week, the political conversation is going to be all about jobs. As President Obama prepares to outline his “very specific” jobs proposal in a speech, House Republicans are readying a plan of their own. A key element to the GOP jobs agenda will be identifying and eliminating federal regulations that are needlessly burdening business owners and in many cases preventing them from hiring new employees. To that end, House committee chairmen have put together a list of “the 10 most harmful job-destroying regulations,” and plan to take action over the coming weeks and months to repeal or forestall these restrictive measures.
The following ten federal regulations — some of them pending, some of them already in effect — are, according to House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R., Va.), “reflective of the types of costly bureaucratic handcuffs that Washington has forced upon business people who want to create jobs.”

There is no excuse for coal fired power plants to continue sending mercury up the chimney other than it costs money to upgrade those plants.

Thanks to Geroge Bush II's "clear Skys" laws the plants that ought to have already upgraded didn't have to do so.

I hope our government finally find the balls to force these upgrades in pollition control.

That's not going to cost any jobs.

Hell it will probably create jobs!

1.UPPER EAST SIDE — Manhattan candy sellers had their Kinder eggs confiscated in raids by Consumer Product Safety Commission last week, DNAinfo has learned.
The businesses, which sold the hollow milk chocolate eggs that contain a toy in a plastic capsule, were profiled by DNAinfo last week. The CPSC has banned the eggs, which are popular abroad and made by Italian manufacturer, Ferraro, because they are viewed as a choking hazard.
At TriBeCa's gourmet Jin Market, the CPSC seized a box of Kinder eggs, which have labels saying for children three and up.
"They said it's illegal," said Joseph Ramirez, who works at Jin Market. "They took it out of the store."

2. . “Every two to three years, Eddie Sales trims and prunes the crape myrtles at his church, Albemarle Road Presbyterian Church.
But this year, the city of Charlotte cited the church for improperly pruning its trees.
"We always keep our trees trimmed back because you don't want to worry about them hanging down in the way," said Sales, a church member.
The church was fined $100 per branch cut for excessive pruning, bringing the violation to $4,000.”

3. An inspector in Maryland sparked a public relations nightmare when he ordered kids to shut down a lemonade stand -- and fined their parents $500.
Even worse, the adorable children weren't just marketing a tasty treat. They were raising money for a pediatric-cancer charity.
WUSA9 reported that the inspector shut down the lemonade stand in Bethesda, Md., ear the U.S. Open because the pint-size entrepreneurs didn't have a vendors' license.
