Solyndra- Obama's new nightmare.

I love to hate Obama and don't wanna burst bubbles here but.....

This loan process started under Bush.

Um, The Bush Admin never approved the loan it was still under consideration. Obama then got into office and ignored almost everyone's Advice and Approved the loan. Using the logic you are using, we have to blame Bush because he accepted their application? And give a pass to Obama because all he did was APPROVE it? lol
Two weeks before President Bush left office, January 9th, 2009, the Energy Department's credit company made a unanimous decision not to offer a loan commitment to Solyndra." So the last thing the Bush people did was tell Solyndra "no."

And then President 'Spread the Wealth' arrived...

Obama and all connected to this "theft" of taxpayers money should be in jail.

Then forced to resign.

Is this the way the feds do business? Seems really fishy to me. You libs are trying to blame Bush, but it sure looks like the Obama administration oversaw this handout.

when DOE was reviewing the Solyndra guarantee in 2009, it was well aware of the financial problems the deal posed," said Rep. Fred Upton (R-Mich.), chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, during a Wednesday subcommittee hearing on Solyndra.
"We have ended up with a situation of having to do rushed approvals on a couple of occasions (and we are worried about Solyndra at the end of the week)," an OMB staffer told Biden's domestic policy adviser in 2009, according to one email. "We would prefer to have sufficient time to do our due diligence reviews and have the approval set the date for the announcement rather than the other way around."
Solyndra: White House Pushes Back As House Republicans Probe Loan Guarantees

Yep. Bush put a hold on it.. obie rushed it through. money vaporized.. this may be the issue,, this along with fast and furious that may bring on impeachment proceedings.
You have it ass backwards as usual! BUSH put the rush on the loan by pushing Solyndra before a DOE credit review committee BEFORE President Obama is inaugurated. It was the credit committee, not BUSH, who sent the loan back to the DOE!!!!!!!!!!

Link? Not that I don't trust you....but you are a partisan hack.

Sorry bout that,

1. Its true.
Solyndra | White House Visits | Bankruptcy | The Daily Caller

"Not only does the now-bankrupt solar energy firm Solyndra have a cozy financial relationship with the Obama administration, company representatives also made numerous visits to the White House to meet with administration officials, The Daily Caller has learned.

According to White House visitor logs, between March 12, 2009, and April 14, 2011, Solyndra officials and investors made no fewer than 20 trips to the West Wing. In the week before the administration awarded Solyndra with the first-ever alternative energy loan guarantee on March 20, four separate visits were logged.

George Kaiser, who has in the past been labeled a major Solyndra investor as well as a Obama donor, made three visits to the White House on March 12, 2009, and one on March 13. Kaiser has denied any direct involvement in the Solyndra deal and through a statement from his foundation said he “did not participate in any discussions with the U.S. government regarding the loan.”

But the countless meetings at the White House seem hardly coincidental. Kaiser, in fact, is responsible for 16 of the 20 meetings that showed up on the White House logs.

In the meetings on March 12, Kaiser met with former Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisors Austan Goolsbee at 11 a.m., Senior Advisor Pete Rouse at 3 p.m., and Deputy Director of the Domestic Policy Council Heather Higginbottom at 6:30 p.m. On the 13th, Kaiser met with Deputy Director of the National Economic Council Jason Furman at 9 a.m.

Other Solyndra officials that made the trek over to the White House include Chairman and Founder Christian Gronet on September 22, 2009, at 9:30 a.m.; and Board Members Thomas Baruch and David Prend.

Baruch went to the White House May 7, 2010, and September 20, 2010, at 8:40 a.m. and 1 p.m., respectively. Prend visited on September 21, 2010, at 9:15 p.m. (RELATED: Bankrupt solar company with Fed backing has cozy ties to Obama administration)"

No question that sucks. Both sucked and shouldn't of never of happened without serious charges being brought on the party that did it. Democrat or republican,, if you do wrong you should be made to PAY for it.

There's a big difference here. Not only monetarily but philosophically.

I would rather pay for new tech..that might fail..then pay for a war crime.

Bush admin pushed Solyndra loan guarantee for two years | Grist

January 2009: In an effort to show it has done something to support renewable energy, the Bush administration tries to take Solyndra before a DOE credit review committee just one day before President Obama is inaugurated. The committee, consisting of career civil servants with financial expertise, remands the loan back to DOE because it wasn't ready for conditional commitment.

So, where's the money?? And who went to the plant to campaign?? Who went to get a photo op?? How much money did they donate to Obama's election??? Why did Solyndra people spend so much time at the White House??

I love how the right get's their panties in a wad about a loan guarantee, but billions in cash on a pallet disappears in Iraq and all we get is a "meh" from the right.

Why don't you make a thread about it. We're not in Iraq with this thread :cuckoo:

There's no need. I made my very valid point in this thread. ODS is alive and well...

This was approved by Barrys administration not the Bush administration. They totally ignored the data from the DOE and PW.

Seems the only thing they were concerned with was prime time for Barry's green bs.

Once again we taxpayers get hosed by fucking idiots in our Govt.
