Was browsing sidestep.com - saw a deal for $300 to new york, then a few hundred for a hotel downtown.

I've never been to NYC, and was thinking it might be kind of fun to go for a long weekend. Stay downtown, see a few places, at my own pace and junk.

Anyone done a trip by their selves? Is it lame to go somewhere w/o knowing anyone or having a companion?

I probably wouldn't do it. Being female, I have my own set of fears in that area. But, hey, if you think it would be fun, go for it! :)

I've done solo and liked it. Then again, I prefer museums by myself and haven't a problem eating alone restaurants.

I'd probably eat at corner-places...casual and greesy. I think I'll run up to BC this weekend to get some good 'walking pills'...this might be okay :)

    I say go for it.

Your own pace...schedule. Go where you want, when you want.

I would imagine you wouldn't be alone for too long. You always run into people partying, etc....strike up a conversation and you'll be in the crowd.
