Socialism vs. Capitalism

Capitalism 1 Socialism 0

Unfettered capitalism can be found in the caels and gangs of Somalia.

Socialism (usually in the form of social democracy) can be found in every first world nation on Earth.

I visited East Germany when it was still officially the Deutsche Demokratische Republik. It was quite an eye-opener to see how things can be when you have an economy that is totally centrally-run by the government. Was pretty damn ugly.

I was in Skopje Macedonia when it was still part of communist Yugoslavia. The buildings were horribly ugly and retail was hilarious. One small store sold only hardware parts, some food and pornos. Another was a department store with parkas lying all over the floor. Dubrovnik was beautiful though.

Yup.

And in the DDR I visited a department store where everything was dusty, all the clothes came in just one or two styles and they had cheesy-looking mannequins cobwebs hanging off of them. Not to mention the outside of the buildings all had soot on them because they were still using mostly coal for heat.

The Parasitic element is US domestic politics is up to 50%. Their motto is "FEED ME SEYMOUR". So long as they are fed and sheltered they don't give a shit about liberty. They are really convinced that the government will be able to take care of them forever.

.

50% of Americans are parasites? Aren't you really making the argument that democratic government is a bad idea?

Communism has always been a hardship on it's people. That's who's running the White House right now.

1) Who said anything about communism? Socialism can be an end unto itself in that the gal is social democracy, not communism..

2) Do you have proof that Obama has any plans to abolish the federal government? If not, then he's no communist, you uneducated twit.
Socialism can be good if you make sure you check abuse..

The same goes for capitalism- for society to benefit from capitalism, it must be tempered by socialist ideals and the reins of the free marklet must not be allowed too much slack. Else we get much of our current economic problems in this nation.

Socialism (Slavery ) vs Capitalism (Liberty)

'nuff said.

.
Funny... slavery can't exist in a nation that adheres to socialist ideology, but was rampant in capitalist nations until the leftist great grandchildren of the First International started fighting for social equality of all races and both men and women.

And yet America still follows that idiot Keynes. Go figure.

No, you were not, because Yugoslavia has never experienced communism in your lifetime.

Unfettered Capitalism is with principle...What you say describes anarchy. And I challenge your view. it is SO wrong.

[]A careful reading of history should be enough to convince any sane person that socialism is slavery.

Slavery is a capitalist business practice.

Conditions after the Industrial Revolution only improved when the unions (organized by Red elements) began to demand better conditions and forced the [passage of laws inspired by the discussions of the First International and designed to better the lives of the proletariat. OSHA, child labour laws, workers' comp-- all are ideas from the Left that stem from communo-socialist thought.

I too have been to western social democratic republics in Europe, and did spend a week on the Azores two years ago. I can't speak to eastern europe but the cities in western and southern europe are clean, the shops are clean, the streets are clean, most of the buildings are clean, many are 300, 400 or more years old and not littered with spray paint; while I have seen beggers, not anywhere to the extent we see them in the States.

And, btw, the bakeries in Europe are the best. None of the phony sugar loaded crap we buy in the states.
