Propaganda and misleading bullshit... with the omission of the fact that people must be forced to give the fruits of their own labor to those who contribute less or don't contribute at all.. we're not a goddamn hive or a goddamn Borg cube... the ruling elite must still use government as the force to ensure compliance,, you are a prisoner and slave of the state...

I fully wish for any misguided socialism supporter would go and just live in a supposed socialist country... they will indeed soon be screaming to come back to the freedoms (individual, monetary, and legal) that they take for granted in a free society

Thanks for warning us what would be in your post

You sure made good on the promise.

I suggest getting your information from sources other than conservative pundits.

Capitalism 1 Socialism 0

I heard a young man relate this college confrontation with his professor, a committed socialist:
“Professor, I got a D on the exam, and I admit I deserved it.”
He turned to the class, and asked, “Anyone get an A?”

When a young lady raised her hand, the student continued, “This is my friend, Karen, she studied a lot harder than I did, and she did a much better job than I did in picking parents,…but I think, professor, that you should change both of our grades to B. That would be educational justice!”

What an excellent deconstruction of socialism!

Some of us get our information from all over the place. But then again some of us went to school before they started indoctrinating our kids.

Communism has always been a hardship on it's people. That's who's running the White House right now.

Socialism can be good if you make sure you check abuse...but since our Congress is so corrupt themselves I seriously doubt they have the will or the incentive to start teaching the American Public to be more conscientious.

I visited East Germany when it was still officially the Deutsche Demokratische Republik. It was quite an eye-opener to see how things can be when you have an economy that is totally centrally-run by the government. Was pretty damn ugly.

A careful reading of history should be enough to convince any sane person that socialism is slavery.

Apparently you do not read or you completely misunderstand the history that you may have read.

His point is entirely correct and well stated. Unless you are a part of the government, entitled by the government to perks paid for by the taxes on "the people", you will be one of "the people" taxed and regulated into slavery. Your best bet is to get a government job...then you can never be fired.

Dave? Are you there Dave?
HAL and Wry want to know, have you ever been to a Socialist country? Can you name a Socialist country?
You do understand (well, maybe I'm being presumptuous) that "Socialism" describes an archetype, and that most economies are mixed, as well as the fact that socialism can be a part of an economic system of a democracy, a republic, a monarchy or a totalitarian system of goverance, don't you Dave?

Running everything from one place tends to cause a log-jam effect.

Bull Shit, oops, sorry, you sir are mistaken. As a manager in a large law enforcement agency I participated in the termination of the employment of government employees, both sworn and non-sworn personnel.
You sir don't know of what you speak.

Indeed. Like him or hate him? Rush Limbaugh laid out the very first failure of Socialism imposed by the first European Settlers of this Continent.

The Real Story of Thanksgiving

it's a classic example. And there's nothing different NOW as there was then. The idea is the same.

The Parasitic element is US domestic politics is up to 50%. Their motto is "FEED ME SEYMOUR". So long as they are fed and sheltered they don't give a shit about liberty. They are really convinced that the government will be able to take care of them forever.

Indeed. And with total direguard as to what or rather whom funds it. And nevermind that they are too blinded to see that it directly involves themselves as to being slaves to their own government.

They have no regard nor respect for something they have never experienced.

I was in Skopje Macedonia when it was still part of communist Yugoslavia. The buildings were horribly ugly and retail was hilarious. One small store sold only hardware parts, some food and pornos. Another was a department store with parkas lying all over the floor. Dubrovnik was beautiful though.

I was very close to this area in Northern Greece which borders Yugoslavia on a remote Mountain Top called Mt. Hortiatis. I also spent time in border villiages of Perivolaki, Giannitsa, and Drama....

Greece is a very Socialist Country. As is Portugal where I spent two years on an Island called Terciera, in the Azores...
