Liberalism and economics, ...oil and water.

The following just one more in an interminable record of the failures of Liberals/Progrssives/Democrats when their ideas come up against reality.

1. In their tireless efforts to paint every voter as a victim, the Left instituted a call for "economic equality," a totally bogus idea that has nothing to do with either economics or with human nature."

Unfortunately, the idea gained credence, not only with the usual dopes, but with a business owner...one who represents, it seems, the old saw "a fool and his money are soon parted."

2. "Income inequality has been racing in the wrong direction,” he said. “I want to fight for the idea that if someone is intelligent, hard-working and does a good job, then they are entitled to live a middle-class lifestyle.” The reaction to his salary pledge has led him to think that if his business continues to prosper, his actions could have far-reaching consequences. “The cause has expanded,” he said. “Whether I like it or not, the stakes are higher.”

3. Three months ago, Mr. [Dan] Price, 31, announced he was setting a new minimum salary of $70,000 at his Seattle credit card processing firm, Gravity Payments, and slashing his own million-dollar pay package to do it.

.... almost overnight, a decision by one small-business man in the northwestern corner of the country became a swashbuckling blow against income inequality.

Job seekers by the thousands sent in résumés. He was called a “thought leader.” Harvard business professors flew out to conduct a case study. Third graders wrote him thank-you notes. Single women wanted to date him.

... outspoken skeptics and conservatives like Rush Limbaugh, who smelled a socialist agenda..." http://www.nytimes.com/2015/08/02/b...klash-against-the-raise-that-roared.html?_r=0

4. Now, boys and girls.....how many lessons must be given, how many examples of failure- Barack Obama comes to mind- must Leftists, socialists, Liberals, Democrats, whatever, be given before they show the ability to learn???

a. David Mamet gave this lesson: "The adolescent, the Marxist, and the Liberal dream of “fairness,” brought about by the state. Silly. This would mean usurping the society decision that the skilled worker is entitled to higher pay than the unskilled. This decision is never pronounced by any authority other than the free market. It was arrived at via the interaction of human beings perfectly capable of ordering their own affairs.

Illustrative of reality is the fact that the Leftist refrains from paying above the stated price for goods and services…he wants, as everyone else does, competition between said services. Only then does he stand a chance of getting a “fair” price. In his own enterprise, he strives to improve quality or lower price…’else his potential customers will take their business to others.
Unless he has the power of government!

b. John Stuart Mill writes in “On Liberty,” that any man who is rewarded equally for doing a good job or a bad job, would be a fool to put energy into its accomplishment. He would naturally withhold it, and put it where it might improve his status or income.

He must be a Democrat....and Democrats are socialists.....and, therefore, communists.

Communists, socialists, and Democrats all have the same goal in mind.

BTW....know the difference between Democrats and socialists?

The head of the DNC doesn't.....'cause there is none.

"Appearing on “Hardball with Chris Matthews,” Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz was stumped when it came to answering what would appear to be a simple question on political philosophy.

After asking whether she supports the idea of Democratic presidential candidate and socialist Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders should be given a primetime speaking slot at the Democratic National Convention if he is not the party’s nominee, Matthews threw the Chairwoman a curveball she couldn’t hit.

Matthews asked Wasserman Schultz, “What is the difference between a Democrat and a socialist?”

Wasserman Schultz laughed. Matthews continued, “I used to think there was a big difference, but what do you think it is?”

But Matthews didn’t let it go. “But what’s the big difference between being a Democrat and being a socialist?” Matthews asked. “You’re the chairman of the Democratic Party. Tell me the difference between you and a socialist.”

Again, Wasserman Schultz was unable to answer and tried to change the subject. “The relevant debate that we’ll be having over the course of this campaign,” she said, “is what’s the difference between being a Democrat and being a Republican.”

Socialism delivers 100% failure all the time.

1. Using our Founder's inception for this nation as the paradigm, based on individualism, free markets, and limited constitutional government, real
Americans are not socialists or communists.....

Now...here's something really scary.....Democrats are, or at least huge percentages of 'em, are socialists.

2. Sixty percent (60%) of U.S. adults nationwide say that capitalism is better than socialism. A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey finds that 18% disagree, while 21% are not sure.

Adults under 30 are closely divided on the question. While Republicans and unaffiliated voters overwhelmingly say that capitalism is better, just 43% of Democrats agree. Twenty-four percent (24%) of Democrats say socialism is better.
60 Say Capitalism Better Than Socialism - Rasmussen Reports

a. Once again, no big surprise, butthose who favor capitalism or socialism are divided in a partisan way as well. Republicans favor capitalism by an 11-1 margin, while democrats are much more divided on the issue; 39% say they favor capitalism while 30% favor socialism.Rasmussen Poll Capitalism vs. Socialism 53 Prefer Capitalism Right Pundits

b. The most striking partisan differences come in reactions to the word "socialism." Just 15% of Republicans react positively to "socialism" while 77% react negatively. By more than two-to-one (64% to 26%), independents also have a negative impression of "socialism."

However,Democrats are evenly divided -- 44% have a positive reaction to "socialism" while 43% react negatively

Such presages the end of America.

"From each according to his ability.....to each according to his need" .....seemed like a good idea at the time....

...didn't it?
Well....up until they had to kill a hundred million folks to bring it into fruition.....

5. "....a few customers, dismayed by what they viewed as a political statement, withdrew their business. Others, anticipating a fee increase — despite repeated assurances to the contrary — also left. While dozens of new clients, inspired by Mr. Price’s announcement, were signing up, those accounts will not start paying off for at least another year. To handle the flood, he has already had to hire a dozen additional employees — now at a significantly higher cost — and is struggling to figure out whether more are needed without knowing for certain how long the bonanza will last.

6. Two of Mr. Price’s most valued employees quit, spurred in part by their view that it was unfair to double the pay of some new hires while the longest-serving staff members got small or no raises. Some friends and associates in Seattle’s close-knit entrepreneurial network were also piqued that Mr. Price’s action made them look stingy in front of their own employees.

7. Then potentially the worst blow of all... Mr. Price’s older brother and Gravity co-founder, Lucas Price, citing longstanding differences, filed a lawsuit that potentially threatened the company’s very existence. With legal bills quickly mounting and most of his own paycheck and last year’s $2.2 million in profits plowed into the salary increases, Dan Price said, “We don’t have a margin of error to pay those legal fees.”

The willful stupidity of the left is certainly evident in this thread. They're impossible to teach.

"Brainwashing does work. Anybody who doubts it can take a look at the idiotic lefty posts..."

Truer words were never said!

Astounding how many have been tricked into being socialists/communists....yet don't recognize it and deny same.

Astounding what the Left can do owning the media and the schools.

Bernie Sanders passionately believes in Socialism and is explicitly trying to sell it to the American People. No bullshit. Not trying to hide.

Contrast that with the pussies hiding Socialism and pretending their platform is something else.

I could not disagree more with Sanders but respect him 100 percent for being up front and honest on where he stands. For this, I would like to see a Sanders vs. Trump Election in '16 so that we can get honest, passionate, debates from two distinct sides. Instead, we will get Hillary vs. Jeb. Hillary will try and show all of the white guy swing voters in Iowa that she is for small business and Jeb will be dancing on egg shells hoping blacks don't call him racist and that women refrain from saying he is leading the faux war on women.

Sanders is not alone....

1. Congressional Progressive Caucus was founded in 1991 by Bernie Sanders-the openly socialist then Congressman from Vermont, Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and the radical Washington DC based "think tank" Institute for Policy Studies (IPS).

Many members were and continue to be linked to DSA and/or the Communist Party USA, IPS or other radical organizations.

From small beginnings the CPC has grown to embrace more than 80 members of Congress and three in the Senate - Roland Burris, Bernie Sanders and Tom Udall (NM). Congressional Progressive Caucus - KeyWiki

2. Those links include Mother Jones magazine, Moveon.org, OneWorld, The Nation magazine, ACORN and the Institute for Policy Studies.

"Many socialists have seen the Democratic Party, since at least the New Deal, as the key political arena in which to consolidate this coalition, because the Democratic Party held the allegiance of our natural allies," the group states in the "Where we stand" section of its website. "Through control of the government by the Democratic Party coalition, led by anti-corporate forces, a progressive program regulating the corporations, redistributing income, fostering economic growth and expanding social programs could be realized."

In addition to a national program of "massive redistribution of income from corporations and the wealthy to wage earners and the poor and the public sector," the DSA also calls for a breaking down the American-style notions of nationalism and national sovereignty.

a. Democratic socialists are dedicated to building truly international social movements – of unionists, environmentalists, feminists, and people of color – that together can elevate global justice over brutalizing global competition."

b. While the DSA tries to paint distinctions between its brand of socialism and communism, before scrubbing its website following the WND expose 12 years ago, the site included a song list that included:

"The Internationale," the worldwide anthem of Communism and socialism.

"Red Revolution" sung to the tune of "Red Robin," with these lyrics: "When the Red Revolution brings its solution along, along, there'll be no more lootin' when we start shootin' that Wall Street throng. ..."

"Are You Sleeping, Bourgeoisie?" Lyrics included: "Are you sleeping? Are you sleeping? Bourgeoisie, Bourgeoisie. And when the revolution comes, We'll kill you all with knives and guns, Bourgeoisie, Bourgeoisie."

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is a longtime member of the Progressive Caucus and served on the executive committee. She was not, however, listed last year as a member of the DSA.
How many socialists sit in Congress today? How many socialists sit in Congress today

Part of Sanders' appeal is that he really believes the bullshit he's saying. He is honest and upfront about turning America into some version of France. The fact that he is wrong on every issue is no impediment. He is personally honest and has integrity and thus a real contrast to Hillary Two-devices Clinton.

Mr. Canlis is already worried about how to deal with Seattle’s new minimum wage, which rose to $11 an hour in April and is scheduled to reach $15 an hour for small businesses within five years.

The pay raise at Gravity, Mr. Canlis told Mr. Price, “makes it harder for the rest of us.”

But any plan that has the potential, as Mr. Price has put it, to “set the world on fire,” is bound to make some people squirm. "
