I'll just use an example - teaching about homosexual tolerance and transgender tolerance (some schools are); use of certain books to teach kids certain methods of thought/thinking (textbooks), some say Common Core education is social engineering.

Ok, agree or disagree with the statement below:

By taxing residents in advance and then giving away education at no additional charge, government is able to claim a virtual monopoly on K-12 education in almost every school district. The government owns the land and the buildings. With very few exceptions, government operates the facilities and employs all of the teachers. Meaning, the Government can also dictate content and what is taught (it's implied, I believe...)

My Mom and Dad also taught tolerance and acceptance of people that were different...in the 1960's....I had a grandmother that owned a book store and so I was always reading stuff that was not social norms...Many, many wheys I was taught as a kid I changed when I experienced the real world and found them not to my liking....But then again, I didn't much pay attention to a lot of stuff in public schools, but when I had to start paying for college, I tried harder....
Just because you learn stuff does not mean you have to live it and are not able to change....that is a prison each person creates and can escape from....

Teaching children critical thinking skills is only "social engineering" if it prevents those who are using religious propaganda to misinform children about gays and transgenders.

I have a 13 year old in school and have a 31 year old that went to school..They teach them basically the same crap we learned, I am sure Columbus discovered America, even though he really didn't.....the only truths taught are in math........

The book is only a well written as the author is capable...again, schooling is just one aspect of learning in life, as it is a never ending experience in life...

No... That's not propaganda, that is religious principle and as long as it is taught as Religious principle, then it is "Education", because in fact, in Christianity... Sex outside of marriage is sin and Marriage is the Joining of One Male and One Female.

What is Propaganda, is 'advising' children that deviant sexuality is normal sexuality.

Because in point of fact, homosexuality not only deviates from the human sexual norm, it deviates as far from the human physiological standards as can be achieved, where the subjects at issue remain exclusively HUMAN.

No... That's not propaganda, that is religious principle and as long as it is taught as Religious principle, then it is "Education", because in fact, in Christianity... Sex outside of marriage is sin and Marriage is the Joining of One Male and One Female.

Government does not "dictate content and what is taught" because that is always up to local school boards who are elected from the taxpayers in the school district.

The school curriculum is pretty standard when it comes to the basics.

The distinction here is between "public schools" and "government schools". This nation doesn't have "government schools". It has a "public schools" which are funded through property taxes and controlled via local school boards. The local districts manage their own hiring of staff and the raise funds to build facilities.

"Government schools" are where a central government dept is responsible for all staffing, buildings, curriculum, books, supplies, activities, etc. That does not exist in the USA although it is quite common elsewhere in the world.

As far as monopoly goes that is just flat out wrong. There are plenty of private schools all over this nation. There are Catholic schools and for profit schools and Montessori schools everywhere you care to look.

So nothing in what you posted is accurate. The federal government does not set the curriculum. All the DoE does is provide funding and with that funding comes certain requirements that need to be met. No school district is required to take the funding or obliged to meet the requirements if they decline the funding.

Another example of the OP's point is the recent case wherein the Middle School 'teacher'; OKA: Socialist Indoctrinator... took his class to a PORN SHOP.

Doing so without Parental Permission, to which the would-be teacher responded; in being called to account, that the Parents need to EMBRACE their children's sexuality.

What 'it' is... is evil. At least where the term 'evil', defines that which is profoundly immoral, a malevolent attitude or behavior, embodying or associated with the forces of the ideological and intellectual darkness which is harmful or tending to harm; which is to say profound immorality, wickedness, and depravity.
