The Tea Party was an attempt to make the same old Republican Base seem vital and new and grassroots. These are the same people who bought into Bush's big government conservatism without protesting once. In fact, they wrapped themselves in flags and shouted down anyone who questioned their government. They are too easily manipulated, and they tend to believe whatever movement conservatism feeds them. This is why they never questioned the insurance monopolies that own the party.

They are useful tools to be employed as photo-ops to convey the illusion that the GOP is NOT JUST the party of the rich.

They no more care about the people and their bible school POVs than the DNC cares about peace love and understanding.

Seriously, kids do gwake up and stop listening to the speeches and the talking heads and follow the LEGISLATION that is passed by BOTH parties and the policies that are passed by BOTH parties.

Both parties are on board with further granting power to the police state, both parties are on board with job destroying free trade, too.


These "social" issues -- no matter how much we might personally care about them -- are irrelevant to the well being of this republic, folks.
