Everyone in the White House keeps saying they're not spending any more. They're investing.

Boy, that sounds much better.

So if I want something I can't afford, should I just call it an investment and that will make it all better???

I wanna buy some useless shit. I want to waste money like it grows on trees, but I wanna feel better about it. I'm sure glad the President thinks changing what it's called totally changes the meaning because I don't want to have to pay the bill. :eusa_angel:

If I caught my husband buying another firearm and he told me he was 'investing' I would be all for it. :D You never know if you need a firearm or many firearms, especially the way this country is going. A firearm is not 'useless shit' to me. ;)

However, I understand what you are saying about the Obama Administration. Changing the way they say it don't change the fact that they ARE spending. I guess this is the 'Change' Obama was referring to? :eusa_think:

This is the way this Administration deals with their deceptions. They change what it's called to deceive us.

Example: Terrorism is now called "Man-made Disaster". The War on Terror is now called "Overseas Contingency Operation".

I would call irresponsible to buy more guns Unless you do not have a gun, when you just said you could not afford it. The only time I would say go for it is when you do not have a gun or you are stocking up on more food.

Just my opinion.

On behalf of licensed gun dealers all across the country, it is an excellent investment.

Perhaps the best, smartest, and safest you could ever make.

My wife gave up around gun #50 or so.

You just have to push on through the pain, then it gets better :)

Come on guys. Lets be real here. First, you must understand liberal talk. Translate it. I'll help.

"Investing". To most of us, that means putting money into something that will pay off in the long term. Maybe not that fun now, but you'll be glad later you did. Like a home, or education.

Liberal translation? When they dumb money into yet another gov't run section 8 ghetto craphole development, saying it's "Community investment". To the liberal, "investment" means dumping money into something that feels good, but has no chance of paying off in the long run.

With liberals, it's always opposite day. "Invest" means instant gratification to them, as in they instantly feel warm and cozy for dumping money into a cause. Like investing in green tech. Sure, it's a waste, our economy will never run on it, but they feel so good doing it. Kinda like all the investment we made in section-8 housing in the 60's, and we see how much thats paid off.

Buying another gun is a good thing, it will keep you occupied. "Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun." Mao Tse Tung

come to bed honey
i'll only be a little while
but you've been cleaning those guns all evening
they keep us safe dear
but it's cold up here
come to bed
be up in a bit
- ladder appears at window
- wife looks up surprised
- masked man puts his finger to lips
my husband is downstairs and armed
is he coming up soon
nah cleaning his guns
you look lonely
i am
- they talk
- ruffling sheets
honey what's all that noise up there
nothing dear you clean your guns
- quiet
dear i'm coming to bed now
- muffled reply
- sotto voce
oh she's sleeping so content
- says to himself
isn't it nice being secure
- hugs his gun close
- scene fades

Yes, the power from a gun quote, a close Obama advisor also used that quote, saying "they" agree with that. Mmmm.

This is EXACTLY the reason I live in a one story home.

Mini 14? Come on man. Might as well get another AR. You can never have too many!

BTW, just got a S&W MP .45 full size. Great value, and wow what a great gun.

If guns make you happy, then by all means do buy more guns.

Your terror that millions of people want to take away your right to own guns is largely
nonsense, anyway.

Damned near every hippie (admittedly most of them are Viet Nam vets with PTSD) and most Dems I know have guns.

It's not your guns that worry us, it's nuts with your guns that worry us.

My wife told me that the mini 14 I am going to buy will be the last one. Fat chance of that.

Excellent choice!

One of the most versatile rifles ever built, IMO. I've often said, out of all of my rifles, if I had to get rid of all but one, the Mini 14 would be in the running for the one left standing.

ARs are good too (and I love my M&P 556), but I'm "old school," and I figure I'm going to hunt more than defend.

You'll love the mini. Great rifle. And lots of fun tweaking and re-configuring after the purchase :)

For those telling him to buy more guns you need to read one more time what mudwhistle said.

I will be the first to tell a person to buy as many guns as you want but read the bold part of his comment.
I would call irresponsible to buy any guns Unless you do not have a gun, if a person could not afford it.

It's not what you think that worries me. It's what the left wants that does. You seem rational at least.

The number of "lefties" who fit the characature that you have of them is minescule.

Admittedly there are folks who claim to be lefties (they aren't...they really don't know much about anything, and tend to emote rather than think) who are the silly people that you imagine represents the left POV.

But they are no more respresentative of "the left" than the overt NAZIs are representatives of your POV.

Wake up and smell the propaganda, amigo.

The "lefties" are NOT your enemy any more than the conservatives are my enemies.

We in this mess TOGETHER -- a mess created by the masters, people who are neither left nor right idealogues, but rather they are pragmatists who are out to serve their (sotto voce)agenda ONLY.

They don't work for you and they don't work for me, either.

You got a problem with your government and what its doing to this nation?

Well, sport, SO DO I, so do I.

Where we disagree is what needs be done to solve our problems but even those solutions aren't remotely as different as you've been told they are.

But I suspect if you really know what "the left" saw as a solution to this mess, you might understand that we're all striving for roughly the same outcome for our nation.

Your guns are no threat to me.

But they ARE a threat to the masters who you imagine are lefties.

Those people, let me tell ya, are no more socialists or lefties than you are.

Was GEroge Bush II a LEFTIE?!

Hell no. He's of the MASTER CLASS THAT HAS RULED THIS NATION SINCE INCEPTION.

And Obmama, is aleftie?

Do you honestly think that Obama's HC reform is remotely LEFTIST?!?!

I could not have designed a HC reform that handed the private secotr a bigger plum that that so called reform, sport.

Mussolini, the man who INVENTED MODERN FASCISM, used to say that fascism ought to be called CORPORATISM.

It was, after all -- as he himself pointed out! --the melding of power between an authoritarian government and authoritaian CORPOPATIONS.

I mean who better understands modern facism than MUSSOLINI?!

Well?

Who do you think CONTROLS this nation?

Gun owners?

Welfare mothers?

Hippies?

Fundamentalist Christians?

Hell no!

Follow the money, sport.

That's who runs this nation.

My husband has quite a few guns, and as long as we can afford it i have never told him he couldn't buy another! Yes, the majority are muzzle loaders, but his FAVORITE "Investment" was the Henry Golden Boy 22!!!! He LOVES that gun! And it IS an investment....when he bought it we paid just over $300.00, it's now selling for around $600. Not bad!! :)

At least you can protect the stuff you already bought. I went to a gun-sho saturday and it was the biggest crowd I ever saw at a show in that building. Obama and his policies must have scared the doo-doo out of people. Antique guns are an investiment like any other work of art.
