So--What is Hannukah about?

Since this is a religion page, I was wondering what is this Jewish Holiday about and what does it means to the Jewish faithful.

Can anyone shine a light on it? I am of of the Understanding that this is the 2nd Day of Hannukah and no one has yet to come to tell us poor gentiles anything.
