So They Expect Us To Believe The Spill And Border Violence Aren't A Problem Anymore

Fact of the matter is that it's difficult to tell how much of the violence is from illegal aliens as opposed to street gangs, drug dealers, jealous husbands and your run of the mill professional hitman. Statistics are thrown around in whatever manner it takes to inflame the argument. Example: the number of illegals into this country has increased in the last 6 months. The number of violent crimes has increased 25%. On the surface, it might be logical to assume that there's a relationship between the increased number of illegals and the increase in violent crimes. But that hasn't really been established. These numbers may be factual by themselves, but it's questionable whether or not there's a real connection. Sure does inflame the emotions, though.

Is there violence from Mexico that spills into the US? Undoubtedly. Is it really any different than other causes of violence? Probably not. Is it a "growing problem"? Probably not. The violence from Mexico isn't from the poor slob who is just trying to get a job and hope for a better way of life. It's coming from the drug dealers competing for power in these border towns. I credit drug dealers for being smart enough to know that going into the US is a pretty dumb move. It's to their advantage to establish their power base inside Mexico in places like Cd. Juarez, Nogales, Tijuana and other border towns.

Illegal immigration is still the basic problem. And it needs to be stopped. But the whole violent Mexican illegal depiction is nothing more than a red herring intended to intensify the issue with emotions rather than logic.
