So at a meeting today, I found out that an intern that we just hired was really excited that he was now, once again, able to tag onto his parents insurance. He is about a year out of college and he was very happy to once again have health insurance.

But the Republicans are vowing to take his insurance away. Are they out of their minds?

Link please ohh and explain how 180 republicans in the House can force any legislation through. Further you are aware I hope that because of Obama Care Insurance providers are stopping child insurance all to0gether? We just had a thread on it. In two States so far insurers have informed the State they will no longer provide coverage for children.

Not only that, but they want to push his grandmother down the stairs in her wheelchair...

Dependent Health Coverage (State Implementation Brief)

The Affordable Care Act required group health plans and health insurance issuers that provide dependent coverage of children to continue to make the coverage available for an adult child until age 26, but the Affordable Care Act amended the IRS code to give certain favorable tax treatment to coverage for adult children. Specifically, the Affordable Care Act’s amendment of the code to extend the general exclusion from gross income for reimbursements for medical care under an employer-provided accident or health plan to any employee’s child who has not attained age 27 as of the end of the taxable year. This expanded health care tax benefit applies to various workplace, retiree health plans, and self-employed individuals who qualify for the self-employed health insurance deduction on their federal income tax return.

This was not possible until the Health Care reform. But since the Repblican want to repeal, it couldbe short lived.

Now Willow, I don't post half truths or edit tape like FOX and your other ultra conservative friends. So, where are the death squads that Sarah promised?

And how many kids will be forced to pay for insurance they don't want just so this kid can continue to be infantalized?

One of the biggest problems in America today is the part of our culture which Celebrates Dependence and Disdains Self-Sufficiency.

That is all that you have?

You could find something wrong with Christmas if you wanted to. You know, "Giving all those presents just spoils kids."

You have NO ARGUMENT! If the Republicans had come up with this proposal, it would be wonderful. But, the Black Man, Obama did, so it is BAD...VERY BAD!

HYPOCRITS!

It is an option, not a mandate for pick up your kid on your policy.

this is a result of pushing the coverage
this is why the bill should have been READ before being passed
this is Obamacare caused
not the republicans
you dishonest moron

this provision was one of the few things I like about the health insurance industry reform bill. Its total bullshit that health insurance companies drop you the day your last exam is over forcing you to worry about health insurance (and paying for it) instead of spending as much time as you need studying for your last exams and getting a little break and rest time after graduation.

Even if you health insurance companies gave you 30 or 60 days after your graduation until they dropped you it would be acceptable, but as usual they are assholes and make it as hard as they can on people.

Many people, especially with the job market as it is now, find it very hard to get meaningful work even with their new degree and are then forced onto individual plans which are the most expensive, cover the least, and have the hardest restrictions on pre-existing conditons and covering large bills.
