So Progressive is bad?

Progressivism is actually regressing back towards some form of an oligarchy. We tried to eliminate that with the founding of this country but just to many useful idiots out there.

Like the previous poster....Both parties suffer from it.

To answer the original post: It depends. What are we progressing to? What are regressing to?

When you are trying to progress past the Constitution that protects our liberty and freedom in favor of a government where a centralized power controls the people, then yes, yes that's very bad.

See, it's good that people have the right to make their own choices. It's good that people should be allowed to make their own way in the world without the government telling them what they can and cant do. It's good to have a population that embraces self government and actively pursues it. Look at the incredible blessings we've recieved these past two hundred years because of it.

It's not a coincidence that the information and technological explosion of the last two hundred years has occured at the same time as this people were established as a free nation.

God isn't done with the American experiment. You are about to see what true freedom will bring about.

"Progressive" is a worthless rhetorical device morons use to reassure themselves that their position is inherently superior when, in fact, it may not be. Just like many other political buzz words.

That sums it up fairly succinctly

BINGO!

or used by their opponents in a derrogatory manner.

But the right supports a regressive tax structure.

No, we support an Equal tax structure.

You know, the same tax rate applying to everyone regardless to income.

Novel concept, equality before the law.

That absurd argument AGAIN? Really?

"The necessaries of life occasion the great expense of the poor. They find it difficult to get food, and the greater part of their little revenue is spent in getting it. The luxuries and vanities of life occasion the principal expense of the rich, and a magnificent house embellishes and sets off to the best advantage all the other luxuries and vanities which they possess. A tax upon house-rents, therefore, would in general fall heaviest upon the rich; and in this sort of inequality there would not, perhaps, be anything very unreasonable. It is not very unreasonable that the rich should contribute to the public expense, not only in proportion to their revenue, but something more than in that proportion."

Whoa. Does that also mean that Congress is not the opposite of progress?

I support tax hating commies leaving the nation.

Dead beats who don't want to pay in their fair share can move to North Korea.
