that we will now start talking about the bottom 40% who pay no federal tax's who are the consumers of the resources?

Is there a reason that these 40% should not be included in the Tax roles as they should have a stake in this process whereas right now they don't except to take from those who give.

What say you?

The bottom who don't make enough to survive? You want to complain about them? How about all of the tax loopholes that big business takes advantage of - enabling some of them (like GE) to avoid paying any taxes at all? Tax payer subsidies for big oil? No criticism there?

Well color me surprised I was unaware the people "don't survive" really? If the left is so all fired up about raising tax's then everyone needs to be part of the process

.....And, the bottom 40% consume WHAT percentage of the federal-budget???

Does it (anywhere) match what oil-companies are receiving in federal-subsidies????

"Right now, the federal government is on the verge of being shutdown due to an impasse in funding negotiations. Conservatives want deep cuts to programs for Main Street Americans like the Pell Grant and Head Start, claiming that they are necessary to rein in the budget deficit. Yet at the same time, House Republicans voted unanimously to protect taxpayer giveaways to Big Oil, even with major oil companies like Exxon paying absolutely nothing in federal corporate income taxes in 2009.

The U.S. federal corporate income tax rate of oil giant Exxon Mobil in 2009 was effectively zero. And its profits were far from low. In 2008, it was the world’s most profitable company; in 2009, it made $19 billion in profits."

.....but, "conservatives" whined & cried, until the 1%ers/high-roller$ got two-MORE-years of badly-needed tax-cuts.....you know....to create jobs....just like they did, for 8 years, during the Dumbya Admin.
