So just how responsible is Obama when it comes to government spending?

It needs to be known that Obama has made active efforts to reduce the deficit. For some reason, a good number of you didn't even know he tried (or you just pretend it isn't true). So, instead of assuming he is nothing but an empty suit, give him credit where credit is due.

The article below was a 4 trillion reduction plan by Obama that, of course, was blocked by congress:

Obama seeks $4 trillion in cuts; GOP assails call for tax hikes - CNN

3 trillion was proposed by Obama back in September:

Details on Obama's $3-trillion deficit-cutting plan - Politico Staff - POLITICO.com

It too, never went anywhere. Why Republicans get outraged about tax hikes is beyond me.

Fun fact: Obama's contribution was 3.8 trillion a year. However, half of that figure is an automatic response to the recession.

Another fun fact: There is a website set up by the Obama team that allows you to keep track of any government spending. I don't know the address unfortunately.

Obama gave lip service to debt reduction and then took steps to make sure it didnt happen. His "debt reduction" ideas take place 10 years down the road, i.e. never.
Remember when he promised his cabinet would cut 100M from their budget? That didnt happen either.
This is the most spending president in history. He has spent more than every other president combined.

Reducing the deficit by trillions of dollars takes time. Do you not realize how big of a number a trillion is?

Answer me this: what was Obama doing with all of that borrowed money? Do you even know?

Transfer payments.

What the hell are you talking about?

OK. so what's the issue? Obama has spent more money than every president combined. His mentions of debt reduction are simply political lip service. HE is the most unserious player in debt reduction out there. Because spending benefits specific desired constituents while cutting doesn't help anyone specific.

Being unserious would be him not making these proposals at all. All he can do is hope Congress would approve the idea,

The notion that the Obama administration has presided over a massive spending binge has been repeated so often that the administration doesn't even bother denying it anymore. Spending has shot up as a percentage of GDP. But, as Paul Krugman explains, virtually the entire phenomenon is an automatic response to the recession rather than any policy change. First, about half the increase in the percentage of GDP going to government spending is simply reflects the economic crisis, which has shrunk the denominator.

Keep in mind that the guy is not an idiot. He isn't going to spend for no apparent reason, Why? Becuase he wants to re-elected.

LOL, all of 4 trillion over TEN YEARS.

then he turns around and ask for ANOTHER trillion..

but hey, he be RESPONSIBLE while asking..

You've got to be kidding.

Talk about re-writing history.

Don't be stupid. Obviously it is going to take years to cut 4 trillion. Again, you people don't seem to realize how large of a number 4 trillion is.

The only thing that tells me is that you don't have an argument against these facts.

Funny how it took only a few years deficits to spend it.

So just how many years will it take to cut it and then how many to actually pay off the debt incurred?
