So I notice a lot of you are.... extreme.

Okay, well you have noticed that I started this membership two days ago, right? In truth I've seen a couple, but most of what I have seen are a lot of libertarian/conservatives.

no, i haven't noticed, but that's okay. when you find a nest of 'em, just lay the speech on them.

it's all good.

Ok, yes, liberals can be close minded too. They generalize; obviously, not all conservatives are gun-toting racists. There is a lot of middleground between the left and the right.
Excellent, now we are getting somewhere.
We now understand your perspective of most conservatives, but not all of them.

Well ok, just 99% of them!

Yes I know a few self described Liberals, most of whom will not talk to me about Politics because they know I'm too well informed.

One that did slowly changed from an Obama voter to a Ron Paul supporter! I'm working on a Rick Perry guy now.

Message boards seem to have a disproportionate number of right wing extremists. Notice that candidates with minimal support in polls will be extremely popular on these boards, and that ideas that the general public is strongly against will be recited like a sacred pledge.
Disproportionate?

No.

Self-professed conservatives now outnumber self-professed liberals in the United States, 42 percent to 21 percent, according to a Gallup poll published Monday. Another 37 percent described themselves as moderates.

If you want a leftist echo chamber where you won't be exposed to scary dangerous bad conservative ideas, you came to the wrong place, Skippy.

Yes, disproportionate. Absolutely. On message boards like this, you will find a large number of John Birch society type conservatives, and in real life, you won't run across a proportionate number.

Somehow, I don't feel comforted that you would jump to conclusions (like you did) after only 2 days.
I guess, just maybe, you are smarter than the rest of us (extremists). :eusa_whistle:

I am just basing this off of what I've seen. Trust me, I'm a moderate. Obviously, not all of you are extremists, but it is concerning there are so many of them on here.
Two days of what you've seen?
Jump to conclusions much?

Ahh "Self Professed conservatives" is the key part of that statement.

It's funny how you confuse your fantasies with reality.

And there it is: A liberal insisting he knows more about complete strangers than they know themselves.

Well there's the members, and there's also a lot of GOP campaign/anti-Obama ads on this site. If that's mostly what I've seen, I think it's reasonable to assume at that point that this sight leans to the right. Maybe it doesn't, but I had enough reason to believe it.

Nah, say it ain't so. Methinks many are just looking for a bit of entertainment. Enjoy!

Contributing members don't see the ads, so I'll have to take your word for that.
But, ads are ads, not members, which was your claim in the OP. You seem to be changing your story from members to ads.

Sometimes the truth is extreme.

Read up on the JBS. Compare your views. Get back to me on it.

I am a fiscally conservative liberal.

there are a few very left and several in liberals who are more like true independents.
Not the embaressed ex Bush supporters who call themselves independent. We have some of those as well.

The thing is with the vocal strength of the right wingnuts.
They think they can outshout reason.

I am a fiscally conservative liberal.

There is no such thing.....

...At least a little.

I hear a lot of you like to generalize all liberals as being the same. Some of you say that they are liars; they are lazy; they are socialists that are ruining the country, etc. Come on, really? ALL liberals are lazy hippies and socialist pigs? Do you even know any liberals personally? Seeing a piece about them on Fox News doesn't count.

Isn't that the problem with politics today? They have become so polarized. Do you know how to get the truth behind political issues? It's by thinking crtically. You look at both the conservative and the liberal POV, and decide who is right.

Don't watch Fox News or MSNBC... or better yet, watch them both!

I'd give liberals the same speech, but there doesn't appear to be any on this forum :dunno:

Are you kidding me, this forum reeks of rightwing liberalism.

...and apples that taste like oranges, and dogs that meow, and sun-shiny midnights, and factual Michael Moore mockumentaries, and intelligent leftists.

Ahh I know a lot of "independents" here in KY.
We did elect Palin last time after all ;)
