Ok, yes, liberals can be close minded too. They generalize; obviously, not all conservatives are gun-toting racists. There is a lot of middleground between the left and the right.

Ah, but what you espouse is a part of the endemic itself. Depending on the issue you may a flaming liberal one minute and the next a hard right conservative. People tend to classify people according to their own beliefs and even though there are conservatives and liberals on this board there are many others who are neither but somewhere in between. The problem is that some people focus on one issue and judge people on that issue and disregard everything else. That is understandable on a message board because a thread may be only about one thing. And here it is like a South American river where piranha are hunting, the pack gets the blood smell and swarms the thread drowning out the moderate viewpoints.

I am just basing this off of what I've seen. Trust me, I'm a moderate. Obviously, not all of you are extremists, but it is concerning there are so many of them on here.
