I don't know what to think the end game is on this whole thing.

If, as some opine, they more or less blackmailed him into supporting the administration's b.s. in his original testimony, and then tossed him under the bus by making his affair public and costing him his job, wouldn't it be logical to assume he'd then blow the whistle on them? I mean after his personal and professional lives are ruined I can't imagine he wouldn't go public. I sure as hell would if they'd double-crossed me.
