Citing a continued "unusual and extraordinary threat to U.S. national security," President Obama on Thursday extended sanctions against Iran for one year in a public notice.

It is unclear how Iran will respond to the move. The United States severed diplomatic ties with Iran during the hostage crisis nearly 30 years ago at the U.S. Embassy in Tehran, but Obama has signaled a willingness to pursue a dialogue with the country, particularly over its nuclear program.

What have they done to warrant any sanctions?

They are the main perpetrators of violence in the middle east. We find their weapons everywhere in Iraq--plus if you paid attention 2 summers ago when Lebanon attacked Isreal with rockets--"all of those were funneled from Iran then to Seria & then into the hands of Hezbollah".

IOW--Iran is a major terrorist state--even having a museum downtown Tehran that honors the suicide bomber. They have continually called for total destruction of Isreal--& have even denied the holocaust ever happened. They believe that the United States is the "great Satan", etc. etc.

In Iran--one is executed if they're gay--women are oppressed & are actually killed if they're raped--on & on it goes.

I could go on with pages of information--but you can find all the information you want about the "Mullahs who control Iran"--their culture--their beliefs--etc. These are definitely people that we do not want to have nuclear weapons--as they would have no problem using them.

I should rephrase my question. What have they done to warrant any sanctions from the United States?
