Small Government Conservatives

Republicans don't have any interest in a small government. What they are interested in is privatizing the government. Instead of a government made up of we the people they want a government made up of we the corporate interests. Their disdain for we the people is obvious and pretty revolting.

And I'm the nieve one here right? Or, as you say, a complete idiot right? Again, prove me wrong then by showing me the an extremely large percentage of Cons don't vote Republican and I'll retract my statement. Until then, I guess I'm, according to you, going to stay an idiot

a large number of true conservatives have absolutely no choice but to vote republican much of the time.

Holding one's nose while voting is a skill true conservatives must develop.

you're right. they should do a better job hiding their disdain, like the dems.

You didn't refer to 'extremly large percentages of conservatives'. You specifically stated that I vote straight republican.

I wrote a rather lengthy post on why you are wrong on all your points, so I don't really need to post them again. Feel free to respond if to them if you like.

They do?

Please tell me what you think the current neocons in office did that was "leaning to the left".

nation building or more accurately attempted nation building.
that's more than enough, but you can throw in the unprecedented increase in the size of govt, too.
thanks for asking

So the Republicans are really lefties?

This is one of the more facinating conspiracy theories of the rightwingers.

You wouldn't be interested in at least considering the possibility that your whole left wing right/wing model was flawed, would you?

I mean might that not make just a tad more sense that presuming that the neoc-cons are taking orders from the Kremlin?

Bush isn't a conservative.

Conservatives are for small government. That means get the government out of people's faces. The GOVERNMENT and the courts decided to change the definition of murder, which is why women in Oregon can get abortions, no questions asked, up to their due date. Conservatives simply want to retain the original meaning of "murder" which is to kill a person.

Yes, Bush is a liberal in disguise and that is why so many Republicans were hoodwinked by him. Those damn liberals are as sneaky as hell.

Where's that thread about McCarthy's legacy?

Well, now that Bush has led you to an ignomious defeat, you disavow him. But you cheered him on the whole time he was shredding the Constitution. You cheered him on when he attacked Iraq without reason. You cheered him on when he let Bin Laden get away. But now he has lost you an election, big time, so he is not really a conservative?

People, if Obama even starts the shit that Bush has done, this old Liberal will be writing letters, sending E-mails, and even protesting in the streets. Had you 'conservatives' had the balls to do that with Bush, your odor might be less offensive to most Americans.

no, that's not what i said. you asked for examples of actions by neo-cons that are not conservative. that's what i gave you. i would suggest that your reading comprehension is more the issue here than my perception of right and left.

all republicans aren't neocons and neocons are definitely not conservatives.
sorry to be the one to break it to you.

Poor conservatives.

Constantly being hoodwinked by their Republican crypto-communist leaders.

Speaking as a liberal who is being constantly hoodwinked by the Democratic (crypto-fascist) leaders, I can certainly feel their pain.

We belonged in Iraq and lifted that country from it's knees.

I don't recall him shredding the consistution. Perhaps you could point that out?

Nor am I disavowing Bush. I'm simply pointing out the ignorance of the assertion that Bush is a conservative. Anyone who knows the least bit about anything would recognize that he isn't and never was.

We handed Iraq to Iran.

It took conservatives 6 years of Bush to finally admit he was not a conservative. What took you so long? You knew Bush was being fiscally irresponsible yet you defended him the entire time.

We told you Bush wasn't conservative.

Bush swore to defend the constitution. Habius Corpus is one of our oldest rights. It is a basic fundamental human right. When Bush locked up people and did not give them due process, he shredded the constitution.

PS. How come you guys call every nominee we run "THE MOST" liberal in the Senate? Looks like Obama is a centrist. He's hired all centrists and Republicans. In fact, lefty liberals are getting mad. I think Obama is going to prove you people wrong on every issue.

They're getting habeus corpus. They're just getting it on a war timeline, instead of the timeline afforded our citizens.

I never said Bush was a conservative. Never. I supported the war in Iraq, but didn't recognize that as a "conservative" decision.

How come you guys call your shrieking socialists "centrists" now? That's sort of funny. We're back to changing the definition of things to suit the illegality of your actions, per usual.

Preemptive war, nation building, policing the world, bailing out failed businesses, completely out of control spending are all big government policies.

Who did you vote for del?

Did you support Bush for the last 8 years?

i voted for no one for president this year.

4 years ago i voted for the libertarian candidate, badnarik. i supported mccain in 2000, but held my nose and voted for bush in the general election. i thought then and think now that gore was an even bigger fraud than bush is. i stopped "supporting" him when he started making noise about invading iraq. that would be what late 2001, early 2002?
