How does Obama feel about slavery reparations??

Barrack Obama’s pastor not only spews anti-American rhetoric from the pulpit but favors shaking down U.S. taxpayers for “reparations” for slavery. The Reverend Dr. Jeremiah Wright was the keynote speaker at the 2007 annual conference of N’COBRA, which stands for the National Coalition of Blacks for Reparations in America.

The Obamas’ just-released 2006 income tax return shows that they gave $22,500 to Trinity United Church of Christ, which they attended with such figures as Wright and Carruthers.

Carruthers is the General Secretary of the Samuel DeWitt Proctor Conference, which includes Wright on its board and describes itself as a social justice organization. The website of the group includes a statement that “Dr. Wright represents the best among us, one of the best in this tribe of prophetic preachers. He has made his church a place where one could express the centuries-old pain of being Black in America, while finding strength for a brighter day. An attack on this man of the God is an attack on all those of the cloth who believe in the social Gospel of liberation.”

In 2003, Carruthers spoke on behalf of Obama’s Trinity United Church of Christ at a “summit on reparations” opened by Louis Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam. Another group represented at the Farrakhan summit was the Republic of New Afrika (RNA), which seeks the creation of a black nation in the U.S. in the states of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina.

While Carruthers said she did not know where Obama stood on the issue of reparations, the Chicago Tribune reported that he was asked in 2004 about the matter and “spoke about how slavery had left a stain on the country that has yet to be eradicated.” Nevertheless, he said that he opposed “just signing checks over to African-Americans.”

Just what the Bass thought, more BS from the uncivilized right. Rev wright is not anti-American, he simply disagrees with the foreign policy here and if that makes him anti-American for not supporting some of the actions of our government, almost half the US population is anti-American using retarded rightwing logic. And what is so wrong wit reparations? White Americans enjoy their higher social and economic status because of their past actions[which alot of them don't like hear fully about because alot of them don't like taking the bitter with the sweet and want all people to worship them as God-like people who civilized the world] so why not give blacks reparations for helping to build this country? If Jews were enslaved for 400 years and mistreated we would be paying them and giving them every advantage[which we're already doing, no fault of the Jews, ]

How has Obama suffered due to the lack of slavery reparations? Why is it that taxpayers should have to make amends something that happened before they were born?

Why should white people today have a higher social and economic status as well as white privilege because of past actions of whites exploiting and enslaving people and having a system that keeps nonwhites below them and ensures they will forever be on top?

So blacks don't have equal oppurtunity under our laws today?

Obama is a prime example of blacks being held back by past exploitations of blacks.:eusa_whistle:

Youre a racist.

"Anti-American" is a meaningless phrase. And I don't believe that Obama believes the stuff Wright preaches.

What is wrong with the Reverend Wright is that he teaches nonsense to people who desperately need to hear some sense.

He tells them that their brains are different from white peoples', which is why they cannot sit still in class.

He tells them that AIDS is a government conspiracy.

In other words ... it's All the White Man's Fault.

I doubt he believes this silly stuff, but it keeps him living in his million-dollar home in a white neighborhood.

Demagogues who help maintain ignorance among the masses are a dime a dozen. There are probably more on the Right than on the Left. Fools exist in abundance, and are seen by a certain kind of person as sheep to be sheared.

So Wright is just a parasite, an emanation of nature.

But the really despicable people are the guilty-white liberals who apologize for him.

I don't think I'd contribute $22,500 to a church I didn't agree with.

And I think it's pretty much accepted by the general public that if you say "God Damn America" you probably don't like America much. Particularly if you're a man of God and say it.

Fair enough, now can we agree that Rush Limbaugh does the same, has a larger audience, makes lots more money, and his only shtick is it is the liberals fault. Not sure if that constitutes good stuff for America either, so when righties start looking inward maybe others will too.

A vote for John McCain is a vote against the fundamental principle of America, the right of the individual to lead their life privately without the government interfering.

Right on Brother.

Did you listen to Wright's entire sermon or are you just parroting rightwing diarreha babble from Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly?
